dumb question of the day

has anyone ever had a problem with bedbugs on a ship? i know it's probably a dumb question, but the only time i got bit up, was in a motel room.

There have been reports of it, but the tales have never been positively proven.  EM

I wouldn't be concerned.  With the advent of the new cleaning protocols on cruise ships, the ships are probably more clean than your favorite local restaurants.

Not a dumb question! Been cruising for years and not had a problem.

I note that you have not posted very much since you joined CC in 2019.  So, I don't know how much you read the Boards.  But, please understand that Cruise Critic's most valuable function is to provide information and answer questions of others regardless of their cruising experience.  In short, there is "no dumb question".  Keep asking!

Never been an issue with us with 30 years of cruising.

24 cruises and never seen one on a ship. In fact in decades of travel I've only encountered them once in a hotel

Once on a cruise there was a filthy sheet with evidence of bugs.

Bed bug NO - did get attacked by sand fleas once but that was in port not actually on the ship.  Most we've had issues with on ship were basic annoying flies and a mosquito or two.

80 cruises and never had a problem.

As a retired pest control technician of 38 years, so far I have never found them on a cruise I've been on.....And yes, I check every time 🤣. Not something I want to bring home. But it is very possible to have them on a ship as it is in a 5 star hotel. And yes...I have seen them in a couple of 5 star hotels....not that I've ever been able to stay in a 5 star hotel 🤣
