We are supposed to cruise on June 2, but my partner tested positive. How long do we need to wait until they will let us reschedule?

They will have to be able to answer the question -  Have you tested positive  within the last 10 days and Have you been in contact with someone that tested positive in the past 10 days.

Personally when we tested positive (antigen test) we continued to test positive for 11 days so needed a COR to get back to the US.

In your Parents Case - like some have suggested have them get a PCR test while still positive, if they already haven't and you will be able to use a Certificate of Recovery  11 days from the date of the Positive PCR Test (antigen test not allowed for Celebrity).    They then use the COR in lieu of a negative test.  Some people continue to test positive for weeks or months after contracting Covid.

If they have a documented positive PCR test they will be able to board with a Certificate of Recovery 11 days after the positive test.

You can use a COR but some countries like Bermuda would not accept it. I was told we could board the ship but couldn't disembark in Bermuda. So no cruise for us as we wanted to go back to Bermuda again.

We were supposed to be on the same cruise. I remember your name from the roll call. Thank you for mentioning / reminding me about Bermuda rules.

How far out until the cruise are you?  If you're within a certain time frame, you can present a positive test along with a Certificate Of Recovery (Celebrity should have this form on their site) from the doctor, you should be fine.

We are supposed to go June 2, and trying to figure out how soon we can reschedule. For example, Will they let us sail either June 12 or 19, if he/we are negative 2 days prior to departure, even thought he tested positive on May 31?

I would suggest going for the COR, otherwise you are left working off of the last positive date, not the first negative date when you answer the question Jim posted above...

So sorry to hear this.  But better before hand than having to isolate on the ship.  Do they even have sailings with open cabins left for you at the end of June or July?  Did you call Celebrity and discuss?

Below are the rules off the Celebrity web site as of May 2022:  He'll need a letter billed as a Certificate of Recovery from a health care professional including the info, and the positive results test result showing positive using a NAAT test (could be a PCR which is a type of NAAT test) and yes, 11 days.

For all sailings departing on or after March 18, 2022, Celebrity is now accepting a Certificate of Recovery. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record. All guests eligible to be vaccinated must also continue to show proof of full vaccination, with the final dose of their vaccine administered at least 14 days prior to sailing.

A Certificate of Recovery must meet the following requirements:

  • Be on official letterhead from a healthcare provider, public health official or telehealth provider showing:
    • The Provider’s name
    • The Provider’s address
    • The Provider’s phone number
    • Confirmation of your recovery and completion of isolation
  • Be typed (not handwritten) and signed by the provider
  • Must confirm the sample collection date of the positive PCR test, which must be a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 180 days before the departure date of your cruise
  • Date of validity must extend throughout the duration of your cruise
  • Include a positive result document for a COVID-19 PCR test taken a minimum of 11 days and a maximum of 90 days before the departure date of your cruise. An antigen test result will not be accepted with a Certificate of Recovery. The test results document from your test provider must include the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your positive result. This can be a printed document, email, or telehealth app notification. Fully handwritten doctor’s notes (such as those written on a prescription pad) will not be accepted. Minimal handwritten components (such as a check mark on a “positive” box) are acceptable as long as the other required information is printed on the document.
