One of our CC members Irene and her husband are on four B2B on Coral Princess now and apparently there are several people doing consecutive cruises. We don't know whether or not RAT testing is carried out as per the announced protocol. The stated protocol hasn’t happened in that we have not been required to test in between cruises but more treated like it’s one big cruise. We’re completing number 3 tomorrow and commence our final number 4. we personally feel it’s been easier to sell the cruises as many more people can organise short breaks than long ones. Huge demographic change got on this latest 3 day one, heaps of younger crowd, far outnumbered us oldies. Lovely to see! I’ve not seen one inebriated person which I guess could be easier to find since the plus package is in full swing. loving being back. Irene & Frank 🥳

They emerge later when you have gone to bed early, lol. Enjoy the next cruise tomorrow, you will have some CC'ers to socialise with. Auscruisefam Posted June 24, 2022 Author #103 Share Posted June 24, 2022 I changed my mind yesterday and contacted Princess in the afternoon. Instead of requesting a refund for the 12 nights to conflict Islands cruise we have now changed to 10 nights QLD cruise on 3rd Sep. According to Princess everything is just fine and the cruise will be going ahead. Will see… The difference between this cruise and my last one has been refunded in FCC. What I find odd is that there are cabins available.

Well that could be true but in the other hand I’ve not seen anyone lying on any of the sofas in the early mornings either too drunk to find their cabin 😂😂😂

We came on this b2b2b2b2b cruise for two reasons! In a suite which earned us enough credits to go to elite which is good for future rouses booked. But it’s been so long for real holidays that we didn’t really care that we weren’t going anywhere, just to be on the ocean, enjoying no meal prep, housework etc. we’re on day 9 and haven’t eaten the same meal yet apart from choosing too in bayou. that being said, if they change our round aus in October significantly we would opt out instead of lots of shorter ones though cos it’s the circumnavigation I want 🥰 I’ve just taken this sunrise pic to remind you what it’s like waking up on a ship wherever you are.🥰🥰🥰 That makes much sense. With a bit of cruising wanderlust satisfied for a bit, if the around Oz is considerably broken-up, you always have the option of trying to do that itinerary next year, and maybe one of the pieces of the broken itinerary that allows you to cruise in or out of Melbourne. I really hope these go ahead, as it is otherwise going to get super messy when the summer fleet arrives.

Lets hope they dont shorten this one too I've put a hold on a cabin for the 3rd Sept cruise and emailed all the details to my PVP. We're already booked on the 13th September cruise so this will give us 19 days B2B. Unfortunately destination-wise the two cruises are the wrong way around - we start off nice and warm in QLD then freeze our butts off in SA. 🤣 1

Tikibird Posted June 26, 2022 #117 Share Posted June 26, 2022 I am very worried about the Nov PNG cruise as we desperately want to do THAT itinerary. Not worried about Covid, we are triple vaxxed and probably a 4th before then. We self isolated for a week before we went to Fiji because we had to do a RAT on arrival which was negative as expected. We can self isolate before the cruise too. I think Princess really want to do that itinerary, they scheduled another one for Dec 2023. So what external forces are in place that would force them to cancel the cruise? PNG is accepting vaccinated tourists. https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/destinations/pacific/papua-new-guineahttps://www.airniugini.com.pg/travel-advice/ The ports are remote and can be managed in regards to keeping locals and passengers at arms length. I have no interest in domestic cruises unless possibly Cape York, Iron Range or some place that is hard to drive to so I would rather postpone to 2023 than accept short local cruises.

I don't think that PNG had anything to do with this cancellation to Conflict Islands, which is pretty much a self-contained destination. It was cancelled simply because it was too many days to risk containing infection levels below 3%. Most, like yourself, aren't worried about covid and have to be at least double vaxxed just to board without a medical exemption. Many are also less concerned about catching it than bothering to wear a mask when required. The restrictions placed on the cruise lines are purely about infection numbers, not serious illnesses. November is a fair way off, and well after a winter peak of covid & flu. In the same situation, I would also be shifting to next year instead of doing short local replacement cruises.

There are so many remote places in Australia cruise lines could visit. I hope they are checking these places out for future cruises. Once the novelty of cruising again wears out the majority of cruisers won't want to do short cruises nor cruise south in winter.
Russell21 Posted June 27, 2022 #120 Share Posted June 27, 2022 Now I'm worried about the 26Sept cruise to the conflict Islands, I inadvertently called it as November in an earlier post. It is a privately owned Atoll and belongs to an Australian setting up an eco resort. My Bro Inlaw has been there in earlier cruise some time ago, and said it is a brilliant place to see turtles etc.
