New England in the Fall

We went in mid-Oct in 2018 which was the last sailing of the season.  Pretty much everything was open.  I don't remember any issues with shops.  Our first port  was Bar Harbor and a cold front had just come through.  It was cold, but dressed in layers and top layer was a NorthFace water resistant windbreaker with a hood when we did the Acadia excursion.  Each port after that was a little warmer.  By the time we got back to NJ and spent 6 days in NY, it was really warm.  It's hard to predict, but we loved it.

Please share your experience on Fall cruises to New England and Canada. How was the weather? Is October cold? Were the shops open for the last sailing of the season?

We’re looking at cruises which start in Quebec.

TIA

We took a 9 nighter out of Bayonne mid October 2017.   While we had a great time, our weather was not great.  Rain and cold was our experience.  We are actually looking at the same itinerary on the liberty next year but early September.

We drive to Maine in the fall every year for our anniversary in early October.  Would not go after mid month.  It can be warm but more likely cool to cold and that’s on land never mind being at sea.

Oh my...brought back fond memories.

We sailed on the Legend of the Seas...October/2014...out of Quebec.

Loved Quebec...didn't even mind walking the hills. Memorable because it snowed...we must've put on 6 layers of clothing and it was still cold.

Shops were all open. Happy sailing!

We've done the snowbird itinerary from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale and the roundtrip Canada/NE from Cape Liberty both in October and had wonderful weather. The snowbird will always be our favorite...loved our 3 days pre-cruise there.
