Casino Royale online down for 5 days?

Recommended Posts

Last year I wasn't seeing any offers and talked to my host. If you have existing casino bookings and the new offer overlaps with your booking (for example you are booked on a ship/sailing included in the offer they exclude you from the offer even if there are a ton of other dates on the offer). They said they were trying this out because they had a lot of people constantly rebooking cruises during the pandemic times when they would sweeten the deals from time to time. Not sure if they are still doing this because I have 2 casino bookings and I still have offers in my account now.

Not really sure how any passenger onboard knows how many people are on the cruise you are sailing on. Every report I have seen here on cruise critic a person asks 4 different Royal Caribbean people onboard and get 4 different answers on the total.

Don't believe any ships are sailing full because they are still saving cabins onboard incase someone test positive for covid.    So no categories are sold out on any sailing. What is sold out is what cabins in each category they are allowing to be booked.

Still Trying to figure out how a passenger can tell the difference between 4000 or 5000 or 6000 people onboard?

The captain gives a total passenger count during the crown and anchor event on every cruise I’ve been on and a lot of times will announce it over the intercom while introducing himself on the first day.

There is also a difference between double occupancy and max capacity. Most ships are sailing over their double occupancy limits so they are full but still have the extra free cabins for Covid. Pretty easy to tell the difference between between a full ship and not full ship by just walking around…

All your posts continue to be really negative about cruising in general but we have sailed 3 times since restart and every one of them have been great experiences!!

Not trying to be negative, just giving my opinion on what I have been reading from other members on CC.............also don't always believe what the Captain is telling you. He pretty much is is telling you what Royal tells him to tell you.

Are there so many offers because they are having a hard time getting people to book cruises?  I called Crown and Anchor today and cancelled a cruise and got back my  refundable deposit back.

On our last cruise, about 18% of the adult passengers were casino guests. People sailing free or on a discount offered by Casino Royale or land-based casino. Pre-pandemic, that number could be around 25% on some cruises. Think about that, one in four adults on a ship with you getting a discount or comp.

Guess that explains why the cruise lines are in no rush to get provisions and service back up to like they were before Covid.  Can't afford to get it back in line when so many are cruising at reduced fares.

We aren't booked again until late 2023, hopefully by then things will be back in line like we are used to. We are fine in waiting for all this to be resolved.

Thanks for the info, had no idea the percentages were so high.

Kinda surprised you don't capacity.

Oasis can sail at 100% occupancy and still have 1,000 berths empty.

5600 passengers at dbl occupancy and 6600 passengers at full capacity. Give or take a few

On our cruise a couple of weeks ago:

4,095 = TOTAL PASSENGERS

1,682 = C&A MEMBERS

     975  = GOLD

     277  = PLATINUM

     117  = EMERALD

     175  = DIAMOND

     114  = DIAMOND+

The rep asked me why we were canceling, I just said we are doing a land vacation instead.................she then commented and said "I don't know what it is about today but all the calls I'm getting is customers canceling cruises."

It is a mix of sailings that are either near full and they offer casino members to fill up the remainder of the cabins or sailings that need a boost in bookings.

i.e. an offer we had last week for Oasis 8.05 9 night caribbean sailing for an oceanview balcony.      When I looked at the availability only cabins left are a couple central park or boardwalk balconies or connecting OVB.

again same offer list included Adventure OTS for 9 nights NE/Canada sailings for Sept/Oct and not many cabins available

and same offer list included Adventure OTS for 5 night sailings to Bermuda for Sept/October with several cabins available.

Continue to see high passenger count on first time cruisers.

I don't think the fact they continue to offer free or discounted cabins to casino members has anything to do with the fact crew members are having troubles getting visa's or supply chain issues for various items.

They would much rather sail with a full ship and have casino members generate additional cash flow, tips for workers, spend money in the restaurants, spa or shops, especially if they win and splurge on something they may not normally purchase.    Happens all the time where I hear someone won big and then bought an expensive watch, jewelry, spa treatments, etc.

I can confirm that Eric has bought a couple of Bulova and Movado watches that he may not have bought at home

Got over 2000 points from a May 5 night Mariner cruise and saw the points listed a week after the cruise with my May offer, but the points part is down and I still only see the May offer. The ships are doing it different now. There's two different offers for the points you get on board. One is for you if you book while on board, the other is after you get off the ship. All three of us had balcony room offers plus OBC if we booked while on board and $750 off a cruise if we waited.

Hi can you explain more about your booking deal?  You mean if you book another cruise within the Casino you get some sort of deal and if you book after your cruise is over you get a different deal?  My husband and I went on our first Royal cruise in April and we played in the casino and I've gotten about 10 offers since then, most being $100 off sailing offers.  We did get one free interior cabin offer and we took that, but when we go on our next  cruise if there is something I should be doing differently I want to be prepared 😃

I'll make a copy of the sheet and post tomorrow, but, the deal is this. Your point total on that cruise dictates your two offers. One offer is if you book while you're still on board, the other offer is if you wait to book. So, with 2000+ points, my two options were book an interior & OBC on a list of cruises if I booked on board, or $500 off any cruise if I waited till I got home.

My DS got over 3500 points and he was given an Oceanview & OBC if booked on board or $750 off if he waited. The list of points needed for each option is at the Casino Host's Desk......

There's usually a posted sheet in the casino that outlines the offers triggered by each point level on the cruise (if someone is currently onboard, maybe they could post a photo).  The last offer we had on the Jewel in June was a Jnr suite +$1000 OBC* if booked before the end of the cruise thru Next Cruise, which we did. If we chose not to book onboard and wait, we still had the Jnr Suite, but we lost the OBC. The Next Cruise rep said if we weren't sure which itinerary we wanted yet, we could hold some type of booking spot and make up our minds I believe within 30 days and still receive the OBC. We didn't do that and made our booking, but it was a good option.

It's a bit of a frustrating process, as you don't typically receive your offer until the last day, and then are short on time and scrambling to visit Next Cruise.  We requested our offer ahead of time to give us time to review and book.

I just did this 2 weeks ago on Liberty OTS.   I did not know what date I could do, so I did the 200 down (much of which was later refunded) and called later to book.   You have 7 days to do so.   Interesting thing is it was for a balcony and 250 cash, but when I called they told me I had been changed to 500 cash.   Perfect!   I lost $570 in the casino, so they give me 500 back and I get a cruise for $70.00 plus taxes and port charges.

Thanks for clarifying - 7 days after the "reservation" sounds more accurate than 30...

Here's what I got the last night of the cruise, although like @watcher_62 said, we got our offer early in the cruise to see what our options would be. We already had the two Harmony cruises booked with our Prime certs, so they just added the OBC. Anyway, this was my offer sheet. My DS earned more points so his offer was so much better than mine. 🙂

The way the casino host explained it to me was, you get the on-board instant-certificates based on points you earn on that particular cruise, but they are the the preliminary offers.  After the cruise ends, they then figure the final points, based on game-play (again, table players - slots is pretty straight-forward), add it to your total points and then send the better offers.  So I usually pass on the instant certificates.

Not sure the accuracy of this, but I can say that my partner, who plays Blackjack, was not Prime when we left the ship, but a week later was Prime, after the finalized points were awarded.
