topnole Posted July 7, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2022 If this sticks it begins in August. Wonder if the others will follow soon.
Bxc53 Posted July 7, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2022 Only applies to the EU, so far. "For sailings beginning August 1, 2022, vaccinated guests sailing on a cruise originating from any port EXCEPT a U.S. port; Canadian port; or Piraeus, Greece are exempt from all pre-cruise COVID-19 testing requirements.

Tatra603 Posted July 7, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2022 Any idea why Piraeus has been singled out?

Either due to Greek government restrictions or restrictions from a port that is visited by ships homeporting there. 1

They also state it I’ll only be required when local jurisdiction requires it. So once the terms of the agreement to sail change then it would seem testing will be automatically dropped. So this does have implications for the US albeit not necessarily on Aug 1. I’m sure this isn’t far off her in the US.
flamingos Posted July 7, 2022 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2022 I'm not going to waste time worrying about it. I'm prepared to test; if we don't have to, that's fine too. 2
shibby sails Posted July 7, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 7, 2022 Why not? They are floating Petri dishes and you are going t catch covid whether tested or not.
davekathy Posted July 7, 2022 #10 Share Posted July 7, 2022 It's time for all the cruise lines to drop the mandatory pre cruise covid testing, just like they did with the face mask requirement. 4

pyrateslife4me84 Posted July 8, 2022 #13 Share Posted July 8, 2022 So this is interesting—we sail on Wonder in August and the check-in page had simply said that health and safety protocols had not been announced. Today it was updated but only to include vaccinations and the wording has been changed.
