Blue chip email? Is it a scam?

I received a Blue Chip email offer for a free veranda (with an expiration date of 9/12) and booked a cruise. I received a second email today...same code with an expiration date of 9/17. My husband now thinks I was scammed  but everything seems to check out online and on the app that my booking is real. Wondering why I received a second offer when I'm already booked....did anyone else get a second email? How should I confirm my cruise booking?

We did not book the first Caribbean offer and received a new email today with the offer extended a week. We considered changing our booked cruise out for one of these since we love the Caribbean and FL, but the darn airfare to FL is awful. 😏

Good to see I'm not the only one. Sorry your airfare is high. I've been checking flights and scored Delta nonstop out of Boston for $277 RT November 30 to December 12.

Depends on previous play, can't hurt to ask.

Is there any commitment to gamble a certain amount if you take the free cruise?

Generally X is looking to fill these underbooked sailings and therefore the play requirements are less.  Many may only qualify for these offers but no other free sailings.  I cruise monthly and attempt to book a casino deal with future vacations on board but every month I get all sorts of different answers.  Last time I could only book either a handful of Solstice sailings out of Mexico or any Millie sailing that wasn't a holiday out of PR.  Last month I could book nearly anything.  My play is always the exact same and even the future vacations say things change monthly.  The one dynamic I'm unsure about, does the number of nights matter?  You can book a 5 nighter or a 12 nighter, if you bet the same amount for an hour a daily, obviously you'll get more play/tier points on a 12 nighter, but for future free sailings, do the number of nights matter?

Those of us who never got any of these offers despite tons of cruises and gambling on Celebrity truly feel sorry for you.  A free cruise but you're concerned about paying for airfare.  I only wish I had that issue. 😥😢

On our complimentary cruise, we were able to upgrade to Aqua for a fee. I know we don't get the perks, but we are still able to dine in Blu right? In my cruise planner it has all options for specialty dining and MDR reservation but nothing about Blu.  Do we make reservations onboard? Thanks!

Blu will be your assigned dining room and no reservations necessary. And will also receive captain club points for Aqua .

So I got the offer for the Caribbean cruise on Wednesday.  The choices of cruises on the email I received didn’t thrill me, but the post on page 13 #320 had a more extensive list.   There were cruises on the Apex and Beyond that were not on my list of choices. When I called Blue Chip, I asked if the Beyond on Dec 4 was available, and it was !   So if you get the offer and can’t find a cruise you like, check out that post.

Quick question: if I want to try to change my cabin (within my current category, just want to move a few cabins further forward) for a cruise booked via the Blue Chip offer, can I call the regular Celebrity customer service line or do I need to call Blue Chip?

I called the Blue Chip phone number yesterday to move my cabin. I think you need to call them. I was able to move up one category and there were no additional fees.

I’m new to Celebrity and a MGM Platinum member that received a 5 or 7 day cruise (inside room) for free when I gambled during an event weekend (Cruise Pick up weekend). I was skeptical and thought it was going to be horrible dates in and places. I was surprised to see that the Mexican Riviera cruise during thanksgiving week was available. We were looking at a similar cruise over NYE with HAL and the “free cruise” was $800/pp with the casino offer. Not a good deal. With these MGM free cruise offers, you can only upgrade 2 classes, we upgraded to Veranda for $20 a day. The cruise for 7 nights was $560 for 2. Much better deal than HAL. I gamble A LOT (thousands a day) and HALs cruise offers aren’t great. I’m looking forward to trying X and comparing the casino/offers

Since you gamble thousands of dollars a day, wouldn't it be better than you use that money to pay outright for your cruise?  Just saying...

Well, they didn't say they lost thousands of dollars a day.

Maybe, on the other hand, when you keep gambling, it is for certain that you lose most of it.  Casinos are designed to transfer money from players to their coffers.

The crew on my Alaska cruise this summer on the Carnival Spirit said it best, calling gambling in the casino donations.

This is not true. The more you gamble, the lower the risk. When you keep gambling efficiently, over time you will only lose a small percentage of what you bet. Even then, much of those losses are returned to you in the form of perks like free cruises.

My friend who lost half a million dollars in a casino had believed this as well.
