Can I get any good drinks for up to $9? Many of the fun drinks and martinis are $12-$15 on NCL

If you not a  good wine drinker the Classic may be fine, it is for many.  The World Class Bar and the specialty martinis at the Martini  bar are all above the Classis limit, however at the Martini Bar you can get other drinks, beer and wine.

For most drinks the difference between what is covered by the Classic and  Premium package is brand of liquor used.  So if you wanted a vodka tonic if it is made with Tito’s vodka it is covered by the Classic, if you want it made with Grey Goose it is covered by the Premium package.

Here is the link to the liquors covered by each package

Yes, I upgraded for better wine choices.

DH was fine on classic as he drinks beer or blended drinks.

First time celebrity from NCL

I read your post, trying to figure out what celebrity you are.  Are you in any movies I would know about?  🙂

I have only been on NCL once and Celebrity once.  I think you will enjoy it.

Is there any late food options on celebrity? Like osheaens or the local on NCL or sorrentos on RCCL. I don’t see ANYTHING 😞

If not, how much is the room service charge and is it one fee per order for as much as you want? I assume the night room service menu is basically garbage right? Pizza chicken fingers hot dogs and burgahs

need me that late night phhh0000d y’all

Do come back and tell us if you enjoyed your Celebrity cruise.

as long as there’s always party people to be found on board, I’m down. You know, that loud crowd with austentacious outfits that break into conga lines and sing along with “sweet caroline” every time it comes on, shoulder to shoulder whilst their beer sloshes  from their mugs…

I know they both begin with C but I think you have your C’s mixed up, you’re looking for the other C, Carnival.

CelebrityX! Also it’s never been clear what the X stands for. Methinks the X is some legacy branding they forgot to take away because I never hear anyone actually calling it CelebrityX these days.

I am an NCL kinda girl and we just got off Celebrity to Alaska and this was an issue for me......I love going to O Shehans for late night munchies and the bits of stuff in the casino at 11 at night. But also just for a change of pace...We are Sapphire on NCL so we also get our specialty dinners and the Asian place is great too.   We enjoyed the dinning room and the wine pairings but after 7 days I was wanting something different.  It was not bad ...just felt same old same old.  I did not want to be excited about going to the buffet but I was lol ....There was a few options in the buffet at night but not much...although I have to say the meatballs were amazing !!!!!   We are back on Celebrity for Hawaii in September and I will enjoy it with my family but its back to NCL for us.   I also found the entertainment was a little quiet... I am 62 and I think it was geared to the 85 crowd

So I’m 💯 an NCL guy also (early 30s, “party” guy, love late night dancing/food and good drinks, etc) and just got off my first X cruise (Equinox) 3 weeks ago. We had a blast! There happened to be a lot of young people on our sailing, which definitely depends on the time of year you’re going. I do agree the overall crowd and vibe was older, but we had no problem dancing in the Sky Obs Lounge until 1am each night, plenty of people and drinks.

The only late-night food is at the buffet until about 1am, which is basically pizza and pasta…but it was fine. No O’Sheehans/Local, but it sufficed. It was one thing I wish was better, but I understand, as it’s not technically a late-night party line.

From what you’ve said, I HIGHLY recommend you upgrade to the premium drink package. The basic covers your standard base+mixer drinks (vodka soda, gin tonic, rum coke, etc) and the standard “boat drinks” (pina colada, daiquiri, bahama mama, etc). All of the craft cocktails and specials on the menus were over the basic package price but all included in the premium. It was the best decision.

Not to mention, this was all on the Equinox (an older but beautiful ship). Given you’re going on Apex, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

I’m not some die-hard Xer or complete convert like many on these boards, but I will sail X again, along with NCL. I enjoy both, as well as MSC for the YC. Looking forward to trying an E-class soon!

Celebrity was originally started by the Chandris Group, owned by a Greek family. The first letter of their name is the Greek letter chi, which looks like an X and that's what the X for Celebrity comes from.

We’re not wild and crazy but we always had fun on our 10 Carnival cruises. No regrets.

We have sailed 15 times, most recently in June, and my husband has never had a problem getting a drink for me as well as himself.    Since covid all that was asked for was your cabin number.  Prior to covid 2 cards, 2 drinks, 1 person.  I do remember back in the early days there were some limits but not is the last 7 or 8 years.

Same for us. I always had my wife's card and mine with me when ordering, and rarely was asked for them. Usually the bartender just asked for the cabin number. On a recent 7 day cruise, I was asked for our cards only once, I think on day one of the cruise.

I didn't notice it being any different on our recent NCL cruise. One thing I detest about NCL's "free drinks" is having to pay gratuities in addition.....I recall those were around $17 per person per day. Celebrity's classic beverage package may not include as many spirit choices as NCL's however.

8+ NCLs under my belt, all big ships plus 1 on RCCL symphony. First time on celebrity…apex in November. What am I in for compared to NCL.

I understand its likely to be like night and day in terms of experiences coming from NCL right? How is the nightlife on Celebrity?

Sorry if I missed it, but where on the Seven Seas is your X cruise going.  A Caribbean cruise will likely be more lively than a cruise where the ports are more significant culturally.

We have enjoyed our 4 NCL cruises. One of our best was a Med cruise where got to visit Egypt/Cairo for a couple of days.

I'm sure you will find others that enjoy the kind of night life you seek. Probably not as many as on NCL.

Give the other nightlife a try.  We have never had a problem enjoying both, although we are probably less social than you.
