Well I guess this answers the question on B2B testing.

Feels like there is more luck than judgement in this at the moment, so wishing you both good luck in getting past this hurdle...

You've certainly put this itinerary back on our list with all the wonderful photos, thanks for sharing.

Sorry about this.  But if the worst were to happen, since this is such a virulent variant, your CORs hopefully will be your 'get out of jail free' cards.

We are now very excited for our 15 day cruise with 10 ports in Greenland.   Hope we have the same weather as you.   I questioned the lack of ropes/chains around the ancient settlement site.   On the Seabourn thread many of the sites they visited had the ruins and natural sites chained off.
Would you consider a longer, all inclusive expedition cruise of Greenland on a different line?

I know.   I read that just as we were leaving.    We can sure hope.    I think that they also have to follow Canadian regulations and  my understanding is their regulations are that All Cruise Ship Passengers must be tested 2 days before boarding the ship.   Hmmm...

Really stupid as they don't require testing for car or airplane.

I hope you never have to spend 14 days or more in a car or airplane! 😱   Seriously though the Canadians are just as frustrated it seems.  I understand that masks aren’t still required on Air Canada too.

Someone should clue them in that Iain is not exactly ambulatory at 9:00 a.m.  My guess is they are staggering this as apparently you have around 250 B2Bers.  Maybe see if you can get a later time.

i think Iian  just needs his fuzzy teddy bear slippers, or similar!

i was thinking the same except for whether Canada accepts them.

Canada receives a passenger manifest with passport details and Celebrity certification that all passengers met the testing or Celebrity COR rules.  A bit different as this cruise does not begin or end in Canada.  The Celebrity COR rules are indeed slightly different from Canada.

Canada then is able to match ArriveCAN data with the manifest if they choose to do so.

FWIW- no covid rules in Iceland.   Some suggestions if I'll to stay home.  Almost no masking.

Years ago as we were cruising in the fog in Alaska, I'd be on alert while doing my laps on the track for the slight "moan" that preceeded the horn sounding---especially when I was rounding the corner forward (Vision or Rhapsody OTS).

I love the sound of the Fog Horns.   From our place in San Francisco, up on Russian Hill I would hear the Fog Horns when I would take our Dog for the walk.    That combined with the Cable Car gave me the true feeling of San Francisco.   I usually (99%) of the time stayed in our  home in Silicon Valley so I got excited by little things like that as I was more of a tourist than a resident.

HAL also has cruises that sail a very similar route.  It is a route that we use to escape the horrible heat and humidity of the SE US during July and August.

I think all the mainstream lines have a similar route now.

I had never even considered Greenland/Iceland until this cruise popped up.   I LOVE IT.   Will definitely do it again..... Oh... Yea.... I'll be doing it next week again.   LOL

Just to let you know they are “trying” to enforce wearing masks (without a sign) in the theater this evening. However, there are still plenty not wearing a mask.😂

Agree... I was talking to a good friend that is a big gambler and they said they were enforcing in casino for Craps and Sit Down games.    At first no one at door then a couple people were told that they had to wear a mask and refused -  they got angry, so they took their chips and left.    To take the pressure off the dealers they setup someone at the door with masks.

I've not been to the theater but others last night told me they have really been packed and there have been some refusing to wear masks.

Another GREAT  READ, Jim!  I've been working my way through for the past week on and off.  I'm always happy to see another live from JimIain!  Beautiful photography as well.

Thank you for your generosity with your time on vacation once more!

Donna

Good seeing you back Donna.   Thank God I bought the largest storage capacity iPhone Max Pro when I upgraded last year.

As I work my way through all of your posts I am sipping my first 3X Shot Cappuccino.    I'm up at 7:00 to get coffined up before our B2B meeting.    I told Iain last night that depending on what they tell us about when we have to be back on the ship I may cancel our Foodie Walking Tour.   It doesn't start until 12:30 and I am guessing we have to be back on board at 2:30-3:00 for a 4PM sail away (why so early???)

Jim - feels like this cruise is an absolute must for us. Can’t do next year but would love to do this itinerary in 2024. Any idea when they release and if they offer the same itineraries year after year?

Thank you in advance.

They are suggesting November but Future Cruise doesn't have any dates yet and are going by well they usually....

I am such a planner I will probably be pre-testing just for a bit of confidence.

The weather has been amazing.    The temperatures have been dropping as we head toward Iceland.   Iain put on his thermal Undershirt yesterday -   He said it was cold out on deck to smoke his cigarette.   I of course said it wouldn't be so cold if you weren't sitting out there smoking.     I'm bad -  but you know how us X smokers are.   Worse than a Non-Smoker.

Did you tell Iain what time he has to wake up on Wednesday yet? 🤣

Not only that but on one port I have a 8:00 AM tour booked..   Shhhhhh   I'll spring that one on him last minute.   I'll have to look to see what port but it was a wonderful tour to visit some falls....

I'm sure they are staggering.    I don't believe we arrive in port that day until 11:00)   On previous testing we were suppose to stay in Cabin until got results.   This may not be possible as we have a tour (non-celebrity).

Iain does get out of bed when he has to,  but reminded me that YOU have a 9:00 appointment for the B2B.

Funny you would say that.    In the retreat the night of the Chic Officers Reception a  guest game into the lounge wearing a Bathrobe.    Multiple cringes .....

Amuse Bouche -    Watermelon but this time Goat Cheese.   I like the tart contrast of this one better.

We started with the Spinach Salad (recommended by a friend).   Sorry I forgot to take a picture before it was devoured.    It was Baby Spinach, lots of Blue Cheese and Candied Cashews.    Wonderful balance of flavors and texture.    I'll get a shot next cruise.

For mains I had the Muscles and Iain the Lamb Shank

For Desert they had a Passion Fruit Soufflé  (stock photo forgot to take a pix).   It actually looked better.... maybe next time.
