The purpose of charging stateroom account is to obtain playing chips for the tables, or cash in the one-armed bandits, or for the poker table.  You need to play and then cash out your balance no later than final night of the voyage.

I set up an account on my TV and play a couple of games of Blackjack. Then close out the account and go down to the Casino to get my cash.

I will be sure to check out all the new features on the TV since we last sailed in Nov 2019.

They always do that automatically. Always put the charges to the non-refundable first then when those dollars are expended it automatically switches over to the refundable.

Wish I had taken a few screenshots of the account, because I am pretty sure they were doing just the opposite on my recent cruise on the Enchanted. That is why I cashed out the nonrefundable early on.

Doesn't the refund return to the original form of payment?

If the cruise was cancelled and a cash refund requested, yes.

But if it is refundable OBC at the end of the cruise, it belongs to the person whose account it is on.

Every Princess cruise I have been on has been the same, non refundable first, then refundable. That has consistently been Princesses policy.

I'm at over 12 weeks and still waiting for my refundable OBC to arrive. I have seen in other threads and this has happened to me, that the OBC refund is against my wife's stateroom folio. This is despite the credit card used being in my name with my wife as an authorised user. I am assuming that when we finally get the cheque (check) for the credit it will be in my wife's name, which doesn't really matter as we have some joint accounts where I can deposit it against. Princess don't have any payment/charge details for my wife yet she gets the refund.

Considering for a recent cruise Princess took FCC out of my account for a cruise that was already fully paid, nothing surprises me when it comes to Princess accounting.

Just as an update on the Eurodam this next week they are doing 7 different programs, scheduled on 3 different days. (3, 2, 2) A bit different then what I have seen on other cruises where each day was one program repeated. On this cruise each program is only done once during the cruise.

How did you get this resolved?  My friend had same thing happen - I think it was due to them putting in some system changes and then having issues and having to back them out (my guess is that it had to do with the new bid upgrade program).

Her record is still not fixed because the first agent/rep removed her CC Member number from the booking and replaced it back thinking that would help, but it just made things worse.  They lost OBC from FCD's as well, plus other OBC and had to get it all restored.  They charged her credit card after the FCC was removed as the billing system thought she still owed money after FP Date.  What a mess.  FCC's got fixed but now there is a discrepancy in total fare and that has not been resolved.

OBC I know of is military benefits. That would be 3 b2b 14 day cruises to have $750 OBC....but I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will be happy to tell me 🤣

Here is the answer I got today from the online chat feature.

I’m not happy to tell you, just posting what was shown to me today.  The part where she says she understands that has to do with my own issue with Princess.

I am not sure what the A is in OBCA.

If you are Elite and prebook Princess excursions and pay for them with new money, then you get a 10% refundable OBC credit to your onboard account. (Not sure what happens with the 10% if the excursions were paid for in advance with nonrefundable OBC.)

So is that part of the A in OBCA?

My TA resolved it with Princess and it took some time. It would be impossible to try and explain what Princess did to resolve it but in short, after they thought they had fixed it, I was still $191 short. They started mixing up FCC's that were used for payment on my cruise with FCC's that were added to my account after I had paid in full. These later credits were taken and applied to a fully paid cruise. It obviously got too difficult for Princess to just return the FCC's as they were, as my account now has an amount for $191 that just says Customer Relations. Obviously a manual adjustment. I am grateful for having a TA that I can get to fix this up. It took him ages so I would have had no hope.

Since I was not getting the correct answer my own question, I did not bother asking what it meant.

Yes, her TA has had to get involved as well.  I will share your post with her tomorrow.  Interesting that they resolved the outstanding net as a special FCC adjustment.  I suppose you could buy OBC with it in order to get whole again if not wanting to leave it on account.  Her difference right now is ~$380.  Thanks.

Say...when the FCC was "taken", did you find you had been removed from DMW reservations?  My friend was inside FP Date and was fully paid, so the loss of FCC made billing logic think she owed money and their CC was charged for the amt of lost FCC.  So, being unpaid tossed her out of DMW booking and cannot get back in until MC App thinks she is paid up again.  The whole situation has been a nightmare for her.

We did likewise, on the Enchanted, except that we opened our casino account in the smoky casino which I'll never do again. I didn't realize that it could be done on the TV.

The smoke was so bad I'll do anything to avoid going back to the casino except to cash out.

I was also inside FP date.......but I don't use DMW as I like to eat when I am ready and not have a fixed booking. I did have a Specialty restaurant credit for that cruise but booked it the day we embarked. I didn't really have any payment problems after the Princess stuff up, just had about $700 disappear and noted against a booking number that was fully paid. When Princess thought they had fixed it there was still $191 missing as they reimbursed other FCC amounts from an earlier cruise. If it sounds confusing, it is, and I don't know how my TA sorted it out with them. I now take a screen shot of my FCC's before I do any booking.

I also mentioned that my account shows an amount noted as "Customer Relations" but I was wrong, it says "Passenger Relations" and $191 against it. My TA kept getting an assurance from Princess that this amount was in my account and would be offset against a future cruise, but no one knew how to reflect it on my Personalizer. After about a month it just appeared, so I assume it had to go "up the line".

I am now just owed about $220 in refundable OBC from a  cruise that concluded 12 weeks ago. Like others, I will just use the casino method in future, although now we get Princess Plus, I will not put any funds on my account pre-cruise.

Sorry, not much help to you but I hope your friend's TA is persistent. These days, down here at least, my TA doesn't get any better prices for cruises and airfares that I can't get myself online, but whenever there is a problem, they have the best chance of fixing it. That's why I keep using a TA.

I get that. So why can’t someone just get chips or cash at the cashier, then cash the chips in or keep the cash? Personally, if I had leftover obc, I’d spend it in one of the shops on board, or drink it! Bought an iPad  in the Apple store on Celebrity using obc once.

We enjoyed and used some of the features. We were corner aft and often tired from the tours of the day. So, we would order wine to be delivered to our cabin. It was usually delivered in a quick and friendly fashion. However, DH was frustrated that he could not order an almond milk hot chocolate... so, you can order the basics. He would just call room service in those instances.

My wife and I were on the island princess for a transatlantic which ended in South Hampton on June 13, 2022.   We had a $740.00+ credit on our shipboard account.   Not ever having had that in 20+ cruises, I figured that the money would be credited back to our credit card on file NOPE!

After a couple weeks had passed I called Princess and endured about a 3 hour wait... to be told that "I must transfer you to the business office"  I was on hold 90 minutes for that.   The young lady then td me "to be patient, return of credits must be paid in check form and take 6 to 8 weeks.

I called back after 8 weeks... and after another 2 hour hold time ( the first representative gave me her "direct" number) and this representative told me.. "actually they are taking up to 10 weeks now".    Earlier this week I called back (10 week mark) and was on hold for 2 hours, someone picked up and then hung up on me.   I am beyond frustrated with Princess.  Heck of a way to do business, especially  for an "Elite" status passenger. I'm looking for a new cruise line... is there any line out there that doesn't keep you on hold for a minimum of 90 mins?

Lesson learned, I'll NEVER make that mistake again.

You too, eh?  This seems to be pretty common practice now.

You might be able to do that once, but then they will lock you out.  There is an expectation to gamble.  At least something.

Are you saying that there's only a one time withdrawal allowed?

I've never tried to withdraw more than one time per leg.

There have been multiple posts on here in the past about that happening.  It's all I am saying.  They know if a guest is gambling or not.
