I have only been on 2 cruises in the past and put down a deposit today for the Eurodam out of Seattle on 5-13-20-2023. My main question is it normal for the company your dealing with to ask and post in an email, your DOB, full name, address, and the only thing not asked or included is you SS? I got an email with all of the above showing my deposit and other info pertaing to the cruise. I don't have anything to hide, but never had to give this in the past?

Part 2. Any info on cabin 4033 on deck 4 on this cruise?

Thanks from a newbie in cruising.

I just looked up our statement that was emailed to us when we put a deposit on a future cruise.  It has my full name & address but no date of birth on it. (Although they do ask & have it on file).  It shows all the info of the cruise and the perks & deposit made & when money is due before the penalty phase kicks in.  We booked directly with our PCC at HAL.  Did you use a travel agent or someone at HAL?

I’m not sure about your cabin as we’ve never stayed on deck 4.  You might try halfacts dot com to see if there’s photos there or google.

The Holland America confirmations which my TA sends via e-mail has only our names and Mariner numbers. She does not send an e-mail with addresses and DOB. Even our statement from the agency does not have address or DOB.

As to 4033 it has solid steel verandah railings instead of clear-view Plexiglas® railings. If you look at the last photo at https://halfacts.com/4043-eurodam/  you can see the difference.   https://halfacts.com/signature-class/4028-eurodam/  also shows the railing. It is also above the seating area of the World Stage.

I owe you cold drink for fastest response. I have an agent who worked for HAL for year's from what she said and me being new to all this, gave her all the info she asked for. I do have the Have it all package and not sure if I will get the value of it. This my bucket trip for my birthday in May. Was there in 2012 with someone and not the best trip so to speak with having to go to all the gem shops for the next stone in bracelet.

Cabin 4033 is forward and you will be prone to feeling a lot of movement from the ocean.  I believe that it is also close to the anchor so you may hear it when in operation.

Even though it has a steel railing, the balcony is deeper than a regular balcony.

We also have the HIA even though my husband doesn’t drink.  I love my lattes & will have a couple drinks but still think it will be worth it for us as it’s a longer cruise.   Being Canadian it’s also more convenient paying up front with HIA rather than having charges on our account on the cruise in US funds.

Lovely birthday gift to yourself!  I did that when I turned 65-booked a couple weeks on HAL then a week on Celebrity with a few days in between in Ft Lauderdale-was a wonderful way to celebrate.

Hope all goes well.  I love Alaska (and hate those

gem shops, what a waste of time).?

That is information needed to book a cruise but I usually only would give that information in a verified communication

We were on the phone when I gave the info. I was surprised to see my whole name and DOB along with my address in an email. I sent a reply saying the only thing left out was my SS#.?

Did you get a booking number?  Did your deposit go directly to Holland America?  If you look online at Holland America you should be able to see your booking.

I got a booking # but its not active on Holland site as I only put down a deposit of $25.

My friends booked yesterday through a travel agent with a $25 deposit and they are active on HAL site.  They looked it up right after getting their confirmation number.

I will check later or contact my agent to see what is going on.

I am always sent a confirmation email from my travel agent after booking a cruise. Attached will be a confirmation that I am ask to review for accuracy of the information so that any errors can be corrected. The confirmation document is a secured document.

The attachment is complete as to confirmation number from cruise line,  identifying information (name, address, date of birth), any loyalty club numbers, notation as to documentation planned to be used (passport or birth certificate, no numbers), and all financial data - cruise total, amount deposited, amount remaining to be paid and due date. It includes any OBC or other included items for the booking.

It also has any food allergies or other special need listed.

If I am traveling with other parties and our reservations are linked, those reservation numbers (only the numbers) are also included.

My TA does this for any cruise line and for any cruise I book.

This way I have the same documentation that he has and the cruise line has.

He is an on line TA.  However, way back in the old days, my brick and mortar travel agents provided similar confirmation information.

I don’t think 4033 is far forward enough to hear the anchor.  But it is a connecting cabin with 4031.  EM

When you say the confirmation document is a secured document, what Secure method did your agent use to communicate the document to you?   On my current booking, the only identifying information on the booking confirmation is my full name and mariner number.   I receive it through regular email which is definitely not Secure

I am not a IT specialist so I can't give you specifics as I don't know.

However, I am sent a link in an email from a secured address to a secured system which I know how to access.

My email with all my info was in the form a pdf file I had to download and I printed it off and then deleted the message. I don't have anything to hide, but never had my full name, DOB, home address in an email ever from anyone before.

Thanks for posting this site. I looked at 4043 bathroom and it shows a tub-shower combo. Any way I can find out what 4033 has? I have had 4 surgeries with 2 left knee replacements and don't use tubs anymore with fear of falling in it. Not a good thing to happen on my 73rd bd on this cruise.;-)
