The Magic Carpet has moved!   It's on Deck 5, I believe.

I did walk out on it this afternoon (first time) and it wasn't crowded and had some great views of the side of the ship.

I'll have to go out and look at the cocktail list and post pics.

🍹

A new favorite since I've been onboard.

Banana Republic  🍌  - from World Class

Funny, because I'm not a huge tequila fan and I don't drink coffee (only like it in stouts and porters).  😉

I haven't been in a pool yet so we came late to the Retreat Pool.  Perfect.  It's our own private pool! 😉

Lovely. Staff is so friendly!  Cocktails, atmosphere. Perfection. Really!  🥰

 Cocktail is the Copperhead.

Now to get ready for dinner!

Thanks so much for your posts and sharing your cruise with all of us. What do you think of the Retreat areas?  My husband and I have a Sky Suite booked in 2024 (I know... a long way out...) and can't wait to experience the suite areas.  Enjoy your cruise!!!

I love patterns, textures and shapes.  The Beyond is full of them. I will have multiple posts but here are a few to start.

You're Welcome!

I love the Retreat Areas on the Beyond!!!  🥰   The lounge and pool deck are very nice.  Spacious.   Staff all are great.  Well, the hostess at Luminae isn't exactly the friendliest but other than her, wonderful.

I commented today that the cabin is great.  We all like it.  2 cabins, 4 of us.  Comfortable, good amount of storage.  Well appointed.  The balcony chair is my only complaint.  I would book again, without hesitantation.  Maybe I shouldn't let the secret out. 😂

Thank You!

Thanks so much for your input. I can't wait to see the Retreat outside space since it's huge.  We stayed in a suite on the Edge and really enjoyed the suite areas.  The Beyond.. OMG it looks amazing!  We didn't care for the balcony chairs since they were uncomfortable and the table was very small. I kindly asked our Butler on the Edge for a 'real' table so we can have breakfast on the balcony and surprisingly he found one for us.  I didn't think he would come through but did.

How do you like the setup in Luminae?

Enjoy your cruise and have a blast!

Day 5 - Sea Day

Breakfast in Luminae.  The sun was out and then it started to get cloudy.  While there, Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis came over with his 10am morning announcement that we were about 5 minutes out from squalls and winds of 20 knots.  He said he didn't have good news for the weather changing today.   Our plan was a day on the Retreat Sundeck and in the pool.

So... the Captain was giving a talk in the theatre at 10:15am.  We decided to go. We got there around 10:30am though.  He is funny.     There was this loud thump, like we hit something.  He pretended to get on his phone and then said, 'How many people?'    Obviously nothing concerning since he continued to talk to us.  😆

We then decided to see what the Retreat Pool Deck was like.  No rain!  So, off we went.   The attendants are all friendly.  They set up the loungers to be covered with towels.  Then it started to rain so they set up new loungers under cover.  The skies didn't look promising so I thought I would check out the Solarium. One word: Packed!   I did find one chair and the pool was empty except for people sitting on those in water pool chairs.  I saved the one lounger I saw to see if my mom and dad wanted to come down. My mom could have the lounger and my dad and I would go in the pool.  I went back up to the Retreat Pool Deck and it was brighter so we decided to stay.  I went down to get my tote I left in the Solarium. I was getting hungry, so we ordered lunch.   The chicken sandwich and burger take about 25 minutes.  That was fine.  We were able to get pool time in.  We were the only ones in there.  Again, our own private pool. 😃 NO complaints there.  The sun was coming out and some blue skies.  Then some drizzle.  I thought the food would be coming.  Well, it's good we got out because it started pouring.   We had just sailed past St Croix...it was hidden behind a cloudy sky but it was faintly seen.

Lunch arrived.   I should have asked what the chicken sandwich was on because it came on a croissant.  I am not a fan of them.  It was a mess with all of the flakes but I ate it.  It tasted good.  Next time, I'll see if it can be on something else.  A nice crusty baguette would be perfect!  Since we ate, it has gotten brighter, drizzled, rained sideways, got windy and gets brighter again but there are 10 of us out here...diehards. 😂

It gets so cloudy that you can't see the water and then the clouds disperse and there's the water again.

Of all my cruises, I've never had rain like this.  I guess it was bound to happen one day. 💧 ️ 🌧

It is quiet and relaxing up here on Deck 17 forward.  There is some rocking but I'm enjoying my frozen Mango Banana Daiquiri with Malibu.

My boyfriend loves football so he's in the cabin watching, plus he has his laptop to keep tabs on things.  He went to Le Grand Bistro for an almond croissant.  $2.   He said it was ok but has had better.   He said Craft Social is packed.

Side note about Craft Social.  It's adorable on the Equinox. I know it was the old wine bar.  Here on the Beyond, the casino doesn't have a bar.  Craft Social is outside of it.   It is too small.  It is almost always packed.  Last night,  people were spilled out into the hall while watching the World Series.

I'll post some pics from today so far.

PinkSandGirl ~ thanks so very much for your detailed reports and photos....all are great (and I appreciate honesty).  We'll be sailing on Beyond soon so it's great to read your thoughts and see all those great photos.  Please don't apologize when you can't find time to post....you are supposed to be having a GREAT time. But do know we appreciate your reports.....we are very anxious to board.

Have a wonderful rest of your cruise!  Keep on enjoying!!!

I think it's big.  I haven't seen Luminae in person on other ships, but the size is good I think here on the Beyond.  It gets filled up.  We are a party of 4 and have always had one of the circular booths. We like them.  Booth and chair seating at them.  They are comfortable.  The tables for 2 are very close.

love the plant photos..all looking very well cared for..

Retreat area looks very nice and the  lunch menu  seems fine..nice salad,  shrimp cocktail and burger for dh. Is it always the same?  Open on Sailaway day?

Luminae is  well decorated and has  nice lighting,   but I am concerned.  We  will not sit in  a long row with 2 people each facing a  partner.. but  elbow to elbow.  That's  how it was in Cosmopolitan mdr on Edge... it is really one long table with orders taken in groups .Also  find the banquette seats are not very comfy..

. We may have to find some dinner buddies to get a better set up. 4 seems ideal!

I am currently sitting in one. The cushion is fine (except when it gets wet) but the metal pole arms and lack of a high back are not conducive for an extended time sitting out here.  The only way I could put my head back is to move the chair closer to the balcony door glass and lean up against that.  Not ideal.

I haven't complained much on this thread so I'm allowed to about the chair. 😉

When just sitting and relaxing while listening to the sound of the waves as we make our way to Curaçao, putting my head back at the moment would be lovely.

I am still enjoying sitting out here but a better chair (S-class) and a footstool would be even better.

As for no foot stool. I have my feet on the table.  I prefer the foot stool (again S-class).

'Design' Fail.  😆

🍹

We had a Sunset Veranda on the Edge & I swear we had those chairs like on Sclass.

I do know we also asked for 2 loungers & they obliged--you might ask!

We noticed that chairs were an issue all over both the Edge & the Apex--clearly selected for design rather than function. Seriously--you buy all those chairs w/o sitting in them? Foolish.

SV is the only way to go on E class!

We were on the TA and  Craft Social was only packed for football on a Sunday sea day.  Any other time we went there were always available seats.

Thank you so much for the wonderful Live review!  I'm really enjoying it and all of the details and photos.  We will be in a sky suite on the Beyond in January and first time in Luminae.  Would you say people are more dressed up in Luminae than in the MDR for a non chic night dinner? Or about the same? TIA

Hi!  No, I think people are dressed the same in Luminae as they would be in the dining rooms or specialty restaurants.

I think you will love the Sky Suite on the Beyond!  😍
