If you don't have the drink package/AI this is a great perk but for me personally, I prefer a full hot breakfast with coffee

If you don't mind drinking at 8AM works!   But you also get some free drinks during the evening if that works best for you.  Also, best to consider the buffet or MDR for a hot breakfast!  Enjoy.

We were on Silhouette in October this year out of Southampton, the Elite breakfast had just been reverted back to a self service buffet in the old style, with waiters bringing drinks and toast if required, served in Tuscan grille. I was led to understand this was fleet wide...are the posts from others above from cruisers who have experience since October?

We were on Reflection in November and they had the buffet. I love this breakfast because the same wait staff is there every day and it feels very personalized.  If you have an unusual coffee order the first day you will be offered the same for the next 11 days (whipped cream atop my espresso).

As regard the Elite Breakfast, being buffet or plated, back in the days when the revision to plated was made it was supposedly because the authorities weren't happy with self service counters in a carpeted area, which at the time was the case on both M and S class ships due to the then positioning of the counters. It is now possible on the S class only? to have mobile buffet counters at the polished floor entrance to Tuscan Grill - i don't think the same is possible at the venue used on the M class (long time since I've sailed on one) which may explain a previous comment...

That's my favorite part - especially when I am on a 7 night cruise😁.

It's the US Health Authorities which has the "no carpet rule" just another example of how ships have to adapt (and retrain staff) as they move from one area of the world to another. The same issue is why the popular Brunch in the MDR was dropped.

Yes that is allowed

Bringing non-elite travel companions to the breakfast only applies to those sharing a cabin with you correct?  My husband and I are elite and next cruise we are traveling with my mother-in-law who is not elite and will be in a separate cabin.  I thought we would not be able to bring her.

Does anyone know if they have non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, oat, or soy) available to make lattes for the elite breakfast?

When we were on the Edge in October several types of non-dairy milk was available; but no dairy-free yogurt.

We really enjoy this quiet, relaxing breakfast venue.  The Tuscan has never been crowded so we are usually able to get a table by the window.  The limited menu fits our breakfast preferences.

Probably too late this time but the solution is to mix up the bookings which works well and is especially easy  if you have adjoining cabins. When travelling with my sister and her husband we book so I share with my brother in law and my wife with my sister. Once onboard we get extra keys and swop back. We set up the onboard accounts so each couple pays their own accounts. This was the Captain's Club suggestion.

On all our TA's the breakfast has always been packed and often spilled over into Quisine - a great way to start the day.

I have something similar with regards to booking rooms in February on the Solstice (My husband and I each got comped cabins from the casino, so also treating my sister and BIL). So never having done this before, I have some questions. Was it an issue getting extra keys? As in your situation we would be swapping one person in each room. Was there ever any issues with charges or the cabin attendant, or anything else when you did this? I'm assuming you didn't actually notify Guest Services of the people swap, but just gave the appropriate individuals the extra keys and left everything as is?  Any helpful hints would be appreciated!

Once on board nobody cared.

We got extra keys at GR with no problems.

We told the Cabin Steward we were swoping which caused no issues

The Captain's Club paperwork/ offers just came as per the booking.

We set up our onboard accounts  as follows:

Cabin 1:

Me and Brother in Law.

My credit card to pay my extras and my wife's (you just need the name, booking ref and cabin number for the other person)

Cabin 2

My wife and sister

My sister credit card to pay her extras and her husband's again showing the name, booking ref and cabin number.

Of course if you are going to pay everything and sort out the money later you can do it all on 1 card.

We could all now attend the Elite breakfast and other Elite events.

I think the Comped cruises exclude tips, drinks and internet so whichever of these you want will have to be sorted - we prepaid the tips.

My sister used one of our Elite internet packages.

Hope this helps.

Have a great cruise.

We used to do something like this when our kids were younger. We'd have a verandah and they'd be in an inside across the hall. But since they were teenagers, technically, they weren't allowed to be in a cabin on their own. So we'd book 1 adult and 1 teen in each cabin, then switch keys once we got onboard.

In addition to the teens having access to a couple of elite benefits, we were also able to use this arrangement to get shareholder OBC for both cabins, instead of just 1.

Shareholder bit only works if you are both shareholders

If you "share" the cabin with your mom, and register her in "your" cabin, she can   actually sleep in the other cabin, , you can all enjoy the Elite perks.

It depends on your definition of Elite perks, right?

Yes, we had 200 shares in a joint account. That worked with both RCCl and CCL stock to give us OBC for 2 cabins, as long as one shareholder was registered as being in each cabin.

I was on Apex this month. My travel companion, not an Elite, sharing my cabin was not allowed to go to the breakfast at Le Grand Bistro.
