Voyager - The Tavern?

Recommended Posts

The Tavern is dedicated to sports bar with large TVs showing live sporting events, including NFL games, football, hockey, championships. The sports bar offers drinks (nonalcoholic, beers, spirits) and light snacks.

It is not really the pub style, but where I usually found my pale ales on her sister ship Explorer.

We did not spend much time there, as it wasn't a comfortable space for us. However, it had people in it during open hours.  It's the closest thing they have to a sports bar, from what we could see.  Televisions, high tops and stools, and the bar.

Nice! It'll give us another option to sit and relax with a cocktail. This will be our first time on Voyager. As I said, I've never heard of this bar on an RCI ship. Does anyone know if The Tavern is on other RCI ships.

The Tavern was a great place for us.  We were travelling with a dozen or so friends and would meet here before dinner to catch up on the day's events.  It was not noisy and the large couches made it possible to have many people sit and converse.  It was busy just before dinner as the crowds were getting their drinks for dinner but after that it was fun.  The area in the corner was great if you were not into watch football or basketball every night.

Went the Tavern on the Explorer and the experience was not the same.  They had the art auction there at 6pm.  We left and hung out at the pub.

I did not find The Tavern to be relaxing.  It was always packed with crowds spilling over into The Promenade.  Service was slow and waits at the bar were long.  It was the one bar on Voyager that I did not enjoy at all.

Are you thinking of the pub? The floor plans for Voyager show The Tavern on deck 4. The promenade is deck 5.

RCI likes to change up the names for the same kind of venue on different ships - you know, to keep you guessing.

We've been on Explorer and Adventure multiple times. Now that you say that, I think The Tavern is in the location where the Champagne Bar was on those two ships.

Tiny with very uncomfortable seating.  Tried to watch the WS there & it was packed (actually met my first truly rude cruiser there.  Sat right in front of us while we were watching the game, blocking the TV.  Said he didn’t care if we could see & refused to move). We usually went back to our room because the bar was so crowded.

Did the Tavern replace the Pub or the Champagne bar on the Voyager? Do they still have steel pan / reggae band at pool on Voyager?

No the Tavern is on Deck 4 and the Champagne Bar and the Pub are on Deck 5.

Oh, yes, you are absolutely right - I am thinking of The English Pub on 5.  I didn't even realize that bar on 4 aft of the casino had a name.
