Sarahsmom85 Posted December 29, 2022 #51 Share Posted December 29, 2022 I just came back from a Ncl cruise and for “$100” tip charge you got beverage package. It was wonderful. I’m not a big drinker so $65 a day is too much for me. Sure going to miss the all inclusive feel on my RCC. I’m sure they can do better. The extra are killing me. Lol. Now I see why I stopped cruising for awhile and all inclusive resorts still rule

I drink lots of drinks all day ... ice water and free juice in Windjammer, soda I brought onboard myself. Maybe one iced coffee during a week. Have never wanted a milkshake or protein shake on board. No way I'd ever reach $80+ , even once, much less daily. A few people, yes, but "most people"? No way. Not a surprise. Yes, I remember that. I wish they still offered a "lower" drink package good for just beer and wine. "Everything" is just too expensive. I'm not sure what you "Disagree" with? I'm clearly stating that over the course of a day drinks add up. Obviously if you want to go back and forth to the Windjammer all day for ice water and free beverages then you don't need a drink package and you save yourself a ton of money. Only the OP will know what fits them best.

I also disagree that "going back and forth to the Windjammer" is an issue -- that's no more effort than going back and forth to a bar.
Joseph2017China Posted December 29, 2022 #54 Share Posted December 29, 2022 (edited) Depends on the cruise. My next 7 day has 3 sea days, and one coco cay day. Plus embarkation day. So basically only two port days. So I got it, and wife got refreshment package. However, on an international cruise, that is port intensive, I do not get a package, and I do get diamond drinks for free. I will break even on the booze, but the water, soda, coffee etc barely will make me say it is worth it. I drink mostly beer, and my wife drinks wine. When RC modified the packages in 2105 they became way less attractive to us. Now, the DBP prices are of little value for those who mostly drink beer and wine. For reference, here's a blast from the past... I can live with these prices!! Too bad we will never see them again!!
Rare Tree_skier Posted December 29, 2022 #56 Share Posted December 29, 2022 With Diamond vouchers the plan no longer makes sense for me. That being said, before I made Diamond anything up to $75 pppd would have saved me money.

Price of everything is going up including the price of liquor. But are you going to spend that much on drinks, every day for a week? Our last cruise we didn't use all our diamond vouchers some days nor did we even open the two bottles of wine we brought.

Bet it was at least $300-500 more with their "all inclusive included" pricing.
CruiserMickey Posted December 30, 2022 #59 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Can anyone please tell me the cost of drinks, or have pictures of drink menus so that I can compare package pricing with a la carte prices? We usually sail on Celebrity, but our next cruise is on the Brilliance. Thanks.

Open the Royal Caribbean app. Select your ship/cruise and go to "Dining" In Dining look at the top and find "Bars & Lounges" .. Select a bar or lounge and look at Menu. A la carte prices for drinks are show there.

None of the bars have any menu or pricing on my app. Knowing the cost of drinks on Celebrity, the drink package on RC is actually a good deal for us…if the prices are the same. If drinks are cheaper on RC, then it definitely is not worth it for us, but we are considering it because we will likely not be spending much time in port. Rare DaKahuna Posted December 30, 2022 #64 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Most of the drinks are showing $10.99 or $14.00. There are a couple at $8.99 or $9.99 Not sure why prices are not showing in your app. What ship and date are you on?

You will have cocktails that cost $14 but then you might off set it with lower items that cost $9-$10.

My wife's drink of choice this last cruise was expresso martinis and they were $14. We did many different drinks and they all fell within the package. The only items that may go over will be wines if you don't like the selection that is in the package. Honestly, we ordered a $15 wine a couple of times and they never brought a slip to sign so I don't even know if he charged us for the extra $1 plus tip. Oh, also the drink package does not work at Starbucks branded locations if you have one on your ship. The Cafe Promenade serves Starbucks coffee but is included.
