It's very easy to do on your own. You'll tender ashore at Perrotti Park which puts you in the middle of town. You can walk down America's Cup Ave to Memorial Blvd over to the beginning of Cliff Walk. You'll pass the Casino and Audrain Museum along the way (on Bellevue Ave) which are both worth a stop on the way to or from the mansions), The Cliff Walk will put you along the water but wont offer easy access to the mansions-- they are better accessed from Bellevue Ave. Its long enough that if you walk one way you might want to Uber back,. Charles4515 Posted January 14, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) For the mansions we took one of the trolly tours. The transit center was a short walk from the through tender port. Bought a ticket there. It was either 3 or 4 hours. Afterwards do the cliff walk. There is also a bus you can hop on and off for DIY. I liked getting the tour with the guide telling me about the mansions. No need to rent a car. Your post should be moved to the Canada/New England board. Scroll through that board there and you will find info. Edited January 14, 2023 by Charles4515

BklynBoy8 Posted January 14, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2023 We will be returning for the third time on the QM2. Since she can not dock, we will be tendering into port. Since we have exhausted all to do and are not into Mansions, will enjoy walking around especially if it is a beautiful day. Our favorite lunch is at the Red Parrot which we are never disappointed with lunch.

You could Uber or taxi from the pier. Newport, RI Hotels | Relais & Châteaux | Castle Hill Inn
