The National Parks pass isn’t a giftcard. I grabbed one today but it is now back as sold out. Apparently they will mail me the pass based on the address I provided. I could’ve used it for my cruises to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It should be useful in Alaska.

I just read it has to be done on a computer and you have to spin once.

Thanks Smarter, you beat me to the reply. This is correct. I applied one reward that I purchased to my booking as guest one. and a second reward purchased by a different myvegas player who i am traveling with as guest 2.

As others have said, the CAS booking agents are not always familiar with all of the terms, but this is entirely allowed. with some friendly suggestions and patience you should be able to get them to visit the playstudios reward redemption portal that does not include any limitations about this in the terms. if they push back further you can Hang Up and Call Again. It has been doubled by multiple users at this point.

The terms and conditions for these rewards continue to be vague and frustrating. For some dimwitted reason the rewards platform is set up to allow a player to purchase an NCL reward every 30 days. However, you are only allowed to redeem one reward every 180. These are new terms as of about a month ago. for the first 6 weeks or so that the NCL rewards were available, players who jumped on the NCL reward right as it was posted, were able to purchase their second reward at the 30 day mark and use the second coupon without a problem. within about a week and a half after that, those of us who purchased rewards that did not mention ANYTHING about the 180 day rule were told by NCL that they were unable to redeem the reward through the Playstudios portal because the terms did not allow it. NCL was super understanding about my frustration and actually offered to extend an existing comp cert that I had to cover the booking I was trying to make, but they said I would have to take the matter up with Playstudios as they were also unable to reach anyone to explain the terms better.

After about a week of back and forth with PS who kept trying to give me canned responses I was finally told that my request was being elevated to "reward specialist" I never heard anything more, or was given a reason as to why they did not honor a reward purchased before the terms changed, but they refunded the coins to my account.... I would have rather the discount, as I have already made up the coins with farming the games LOL

Where does it say about 180 days? I can only find reference to 30days on the reward

Okay, I’m late to the party and love to play slots online, but I’ve been using DoubleDown for years.  It looks as though this is a similar site but with points!

probably a silly question, but do you only get points from purchasing chips, or do you accrue any from free play?

You don’t have to spend any money. If you “play” all the Playstudios games and link them to one account you can get loyalty points quickly. Some games are just on a timer for points so you just leave it running. Some you have to spin at a minimum bet. Some you have to make increasingly higher bets to earn points. These I don’t play anymore since I always run out of chips. You can also get points by clicking on things and going into some games daily. There are also ads in the game that earn points.

There are additional rewards and other benefits you get from spending money but most of the rewards like the giftcards and cruise related ones are available without any money spent.

It comes down to how you want to spend your time. I’m sure a lot of people will look at it and would rather just work and pay for things themselves. How much time and effort does it take to earn $750 working versus getting 1 million points for the coupon? Of course there’s the fun of the games and the thrill of getting the rewards to consider too.

As Mistertomatoe so eloquently put it, it really does come down to a time vs worth scenario. When folks first learn about MyVegas and Play Studios they are quick to jump at the thrill of being able to score a "comp" cruise or the recent $$ off coupons that NCL has been offering. They soon learn that it can actually become a real grind if you working to stack points up quickly and to do it efficiently requires a lot of research and trial and error. I know folks that have spent Zero $$ and only play casually on one or two games. They are happy with the results and understand that it will take them 5-6 months to earn enough points before they are able to redeem anything. That system works for them. For those of us who are a tad bit more serious it involves logging in to multiple apps multiple times a day across multiple platforms and even possibly running a computer program so that you can have more than one app open at a time collecting points. When maxed out you can earn upwards of 40-45K loyalty points per day resulting in some serious benefits if you know how to take advantage of them. Using NCL as the current example two MyVegas players staying in the same cabin could have each redeemed the $750 off coupon for their portion of the stateroom charge. in a perfect scenario either a $500 cruise first or two cruise next certs could be added to help with port taxes and fees, and if you are really lucky you could also add in an AMEX cash back offer to maximize things. I got close to this, with the exception that I had a $750 and my travel partner had a $500 off.

Now the real question is that since this is not a "Comp" cruise through CAS and rather just a $$ off, would it be eligible for a Double Meta upgrade through the NCL Mastercard?? Hopefully they extend the coupons through to sailing good in 2024 so that I can try it out. It could truthfully result in a multi-thousand dollar cruise vacation costing very little.

Have you received the National Parks pass? The redemption information is a little confusing. It seems like they will simply send the pass to the address without any further steps? However, I just received an email reminding me to redeem my purchase. Do I need to take any other steps?

Thanks.

I don’t think so. I’m just waiting. I got the reminder email too. I thought they would just send me something in the mail since I put in my address in the game. I might have to contact them. I don’t have a host so I’ll have to use the webform.

603, I don’t know why WP would deny an upgrade.  But their rules can change on the time of the day 😵‍💫

I believe that one of the regulars on the WP board (may have been bird or MSC) said that as of late WP was not allowing the double meta when booked as a CAS comp, so I wasnt sure how they treat the booking if it is only a CAS Discount. Either a % off discount directly through CAS for those who may not qualify for a full comp on a longer cruise, or through the current $$ off discounts that are available for NCL through the MyVegas games. It is a bit if a niche request that would require someone who participates in both worlds to test it out. Like I said I am hoping to in the future. I have the points for a double meta, but want to use it on a longer sailing that is also financially beneficial to do so. I just need to save up the vacation time which is hard when I keep sailing LOL. Hopefully the $$ off discounts will continue through at least 2024 so that I can put it to the test!!

🙂 we all were at one time. Also I am was using short hand for the name of another topic here on CC, so no worries for not knowing.

  • WP= World Points. Which is the name of the rewards offered through Bank of America Credit Cards. NCL has a Branded BoA Card. Similar to a traditional rewards style credit card it allows the holder to earn points that can be redeemed for things related to NCL Cruises. You can get basic things like a statement credit towards your balance just like most rewards cards. You can also redeem points for things such as on board credit (OBC.) The thing that many value the most rewards is that they can also be used to get upgrades either within the same category of stateroom (like and Inside IF to IA, the actual sub category or second letter/number explains the "quality" of that room.) or an upgrade between categories which is called a Meta-upgrade. this would be going from Inside to Ocean View (OV) or OV to Balcony(Balc.) You are also able to do a double meta upgrade going fron Inside to Balc. stacking other offers and rewards such as through myVegas and then redeeming WP points for a double meta could result in you potentially saving THOUSANDS of dollars on a cruise.
  • Board refers to a "message board" or another topic within cruise critic.

As a quick example of savings I just did a mock booking for a 21 Africa cruise on the Dawn in March 20224. The all in cost per person for a Balcony Room is $11,156.84. Instead, if book an inside room and apply two $750 off MyVegas discounts as well as a $500 off cruise first certificate that I purchase for $250. I can also use an AMEX money back offer for each individual card holder. we will say 2, one for each guest. that results in applying the $250 CF purchase plus an additional $750 on the first AMEX to get $350 back. The second AMEX applies the Full $1,000 towards payment but gets another $350 back for $700 total. I then redeem my WP for a double meta upgrade so that I am now in a Balcony room while paying for a reduced fare Inside. This brings my per person cost down to $4,576.34. Or more than half off!! It's still a big chunk of change and something that most people need to budget and save for, but it could be the difference between a once in a lifetime trip and never even considering it because you may never be able to afford 11k per person.

OK...I won a Poker Challenge cruise in Dec.

Gets us a free cruise (interior) & 1 entry in next year's tourney.

Anyone know if they would allow me to apply my $500 MyVegas reward to the cost to upgrade my room? (I know we can use Cruise Next so wondering if they would allow this)

Thanks if anyone knows...

There are only balconies & above left for this cruise! (crazy...never seen that this far out for this cruise)

Unfortunately, no they won't allow it. You are not able to stack the MyVEGAS discount with another cruise offer. I tried 😁. In most scenarios, I know it is beneficial to politely hang up and call again to see if you can get a different answer from a different rep, but I was using my CAS PCC so I felt comfortable asking her why. She explained that the $$ off coupons (as well as the comp cruises) are booked exactly like a land based casino certificate. The land certs can not be combined with a CAS offers.

Slightly off topic but still interesting... Since I already know that the $$ off coupons can be combined if guest one and guest two are separate MyVEGAS players, and I also know that with most land certs, if two players in the same house have an offer they can be stacked to perform a meta upgrade, I asked her if this would also be true for the MyVEGAS comp cruises. She said that she had not personally done it, but that the logic made sense that it should be possible. So if two players are sharing a room and each have 4mil LP burning a hole in their pocket, it stands to reason that they could combine the offers and upgrade to an OV room. Not really the best use of LP in my opinion, but interesting to think about.

Uber $25 giftcard showed up under Partners in Tetris Rewards. It’s not under Category/Retail at the moment. Remember, you are limited to one giftcard every 14 days so choose wisely.

Catch a ride with Uber, fly Southwest, stay at Airbnb, cruise with NCL. Have a precruise meal at Cheesecake Factory. Buy things you need for the cruise at Target and Amazon.

You are starting to sound like you can see my search history LOL. I just redeemed for 2 Airbnb cards (along with another player) so that we could book a night ahead of our Seattle departure in July. Hotel rooms where over $400 a night. Figured we mine as well take a chance on a Airbnb for the night that is right downtown. We will take the train into town from the airport for that cruise, but also redeemed for the Uber GC for an upcoming cruise where I will need to the get back from the Port of Miami to MIA. and back when the gards first appeared and you could redeem two within 14, I lucked out and grabbed two of the $25 amazon. thinking that I may stack them up and purchase a Visa GC through Amazon to put towards cruise payments to further increase the savings... I'm assuming target likely sells visa GCs as well.

I think you can purchase a new one after 30 days, but you can't use it to book another cruise until after 180 days. Not sure if that means the sail date has to be after 180 days or that you can't even use it to book for 180 days. Biggest bummer right now is they are only good until Dec 31 of this year. Crossing our fingers they start selling them for next year.
