my apologies is this was already answered, i tried searching for this

if i redeem a $500 or $750 MyVegas reward, can i combine that with one (or 2?) NCL CruiseNext certificates?

As Gsalbato said. it certainly can. just check the terms and current promotions on CN dbl ups to see if you can apply two. depending on your circumstances, you may be better off using a cruise first which is similar however holds different terms and can be purchased online instead of having to be on a ship (or aftermarket)

Check your Amex Offers. I just got a spend $1000 or more and get 25000 pts. These are targeted so you might get a different offer or none at all.

I plan on getting $1000 refundable OBC for my existing cruise and getting a cash refund on the last full day onboard. It worked for me on my March cruise.

Thanks for the tip. Can you explain how to buy refundable on board credit and later get a refund?

Regardless of how you purchase (AmEx, Visa, Discover, etc.), if you do not spend" all of your OBC while onboard, prior to disembarkation, you will be asked to go to customer service and get a CASH refund!

Go to your reservation online and go to Explore and Plan and under Gifts and More you’ll see Onboard Credit.  I got 10x$100. You can also just call and purchase it. Towards the end of the cruise, you go to Guest Services and they will refund what you don’t use as cash. My last cruise I got a notice in my cabin to remind me. This is considered refundable onboard credit because you paid for it directly versus nonrefundable onboard credit that you get as a promotion like the shareholder credit. Those are more restrictive on what you can use them for and you lose it if you don’t use it all. For onboard spending, depending on what the spending is it will go towards nonrefundable credit before using the refundable credit.

If you go down this route, even though you can get a refund onboard in cash keep in mind American Express might restrict the Amex Offers for this type of purchase at anytime.

What would be the reason for doing this?

2 questions (thanks for all the help)

if i have a held reservation (no payments made but i have a courtesy hold) can i give that reservation # to casinos at sea and use a MyVegas rewards towards it?

what is the school of thought on spending 750k points for $500 off vs. 1 million points for $750 off

i'm currently sitting at approx. 825k points in MyVegas, should i take the $500 and consider myself on my way to another $500 off next year? or go all in for the $750 off?

Take the $500 now--there is NO guarantee that these will be around next week much less next year.

Twice I have been saving for cruises...got there 1st time & damn COVID hit.

Well once they finally came back, they doubled the price!

I bought a $500 NCL credit...but didn't realize I had to cruise by the end of the year & just couldn't make it work. So just ate that 750K points.

MyVegas has given us over $3K in perks (Vegas: shows, meals, rooms, freeplay) over 12 years with very little $ invested (I'd say less than $100 over the time). But the last few years the value is nearly non-existent.

Don’t know of this question has been asked, but if I get the $500off and want to use the discount with my own travel agent, can it be done?

You have to call Casinos at Sea to make the booking. I don't know if you can then transfer it to your travel agent

I have tried to transfer cruises won or discounted from MyVegas/Playstudios to my travel advisor, but they told me they weren't permitted to.

I don't know if it is so much that they are no "permitted to" because others have said they had success in the past. and there is language buried in the terms of the site regarding it. I think the bigger thing is that for comp or heavily discounted cruises there is no longer any (or very little) commissionable fare left to make it worth while for your TA to accept the transfer. If they aren't making any money on it, why would they want to take on the responsibility of ensuring the success of your reservation. let alone go further and comp you anything. It's a bummer, because I would love to try and get some of those extra AMEX perks, but I guess its the trade off on a "free" cruise LOL

Because they want ALL your business including future cruises and you don’t want to deal with all the issues. I’ve had to call multiple times myself and gotten different people each time on this one cruise. They even messed up and charged me a penalty for removing transportation. If a TA’s made money from you in the past, they’d want to continue doing it in the future even if they don’t make any on some cruises. Just my opinion. If a TA disagrees, that’s one that won’t have my business.

@mistertomatoe

Have you received the National Parks pass? The redemption information is a little confusing. It seems like they will simply send the pass to the address without any further steps? However, I just received an email reminding me to redeem my purchase. Do I need to take any other steps?

Thanks.

I got the reward on Apr 9. I contacted support on Apr 27 and got the pass today May 1 via priority mail. The stamp says Apr 28. Support hasn’t said anything but I guess it got things moving.

I'm going to give you all the credit.

I was just notified of your response, and was half way through submitting a ticket from the link you provided, when I remembered that I hadn't actually checked the mail from today. Lo and behold, my Park Pass was waiting for me! I definitely think you got the ball rolling. We have some National Park visits already planned for this summer!

You are both lucky that you were able to score the pass. I kept an eye for it at refreshes but never saw it available again before they pulled it. I hope you get some use out of them!

I have a screenshot of a popup in January that said I had to wait 180 days. It’s no longer there. Did they change it to 30 days? Anyone able to use the $750 off again inside 180 days?

That is the million dollar (or should I say Million LP) question right now. I think everyone is hesitant to give it a try... I know I purchased my second reward BEFORE they made the initial change from 30 to 180, but when I went to redeem Play Studios told NCL no. I ended up having to eat the $$ difference of the cruise, but after going back and forth with Play Studios for about two weeks they finally refunded the LP (of course I would have rather they honor the terms when I purchased the reward and allowed me to get the $$ off.) Now that the 180 has been removed and the terms say 30 days again it would be interesting to find out if that is actually correct, or if someone just made a mistake and uploaded old T&C during a batch refresh of the reward
