Airline lost checked bag - Underwear on Bliss?

Good morning,

Air Canada lost our checked bag and we board Bliss today. We packed our carry ons well, having a gut feeling this would happen. I know I can get most of what I need on board, but my husband wants a few more pair of underwear so we only have to send laundry away once.

has anyone ever noticed if they sell underwear or socks on Bliss?

Different cruise line, but when my luggage was lost this summer I didn't see any socks or underwear on the ship (maybe some novelty socks but nothing functional).

I was also air Canada and ditto the above to save all the receipts including Uber to the store. After you get your target receipt (ours was Walmart - we were in Vancouver) note what everything is. When you enter it later for reimbursement you're going to need to say what each thing was. So the receipt might say that your medium blue tee shirt was a "m bl t st" but you're going to have to itemize it as "women's tee shirt"

Buy a suitcase to put it all in and some hand washing detergent. Good luck!

Hopefully shopping went well! Following up to say that when it happened to us the cruise line (royal) was incredibly helpful. They managed the phone calls with the airlines to try to get out bags to a port (never happened though). They gave us free laundry that was returned quickly. Robes in the room. Plenty of extra towels I asked for to help dry when I hand washed clothes (it was Alaska for us, so heavier items and chilly weather).

If there's something you need on board, just ask. It was frustrating at first but once we accepted it we could laugh at wearing my new ill-fitting Walmart shirts on formal night!

We’re just off the ship and I’m reading the rest of these responses. Thanks for the laughs and the good advice! I’ve got all our receipts and will claim the Uber as well. It was definitely a less well-dressed cruise for us, but I’m glad we had what we did and that we were able to find the essentials we needed.

Apparently our suitcase is waiting at FLL for us. They were going to try and get it to us in Cozumel, but the Miami Air Canada representatives advised against it due to the risk of theft. Oh well.

Side note - we had a great cruise!

Glad you still had fun. I had that happen before my last Alaska cruise, and American was really good about reimbursing everything, then shipped my suitcase home with all my stuff about a month later after they found it. The printed luggage tags had gotten ripped off in a rainstorm in DFW lol.

NCL did a really good job taking care of us, giving us laundry, toiletries, and other things. Hopefully you had a similar experience and won't have any issues getting reimbursed!

I’ve had checked bags go astray a few times on non-cruise travel, as a result I always have essentials in my carry-on. since I started cruising I fly in a couple of days early if travelling transatlantic so I can go buy anything I might need if my bag goes wandering.

Check out AirCanadasucks on Facebook. Our luggage was lost by AirCanada prior to a 10 day Baltic cruise in May. It was finally returned to us in September, after hundreds of hours trying to contact a live person. NCL was so very accommodating with gratis laundry and trying diligently to have the luggage delivered to each port.
So sorry that you were an AirCanada victim.

Yikes! That's really sucky. We were lucky to have our luggage located quickly and a very helpful AC representative.

We've always made it a point to come in at least 1 day early, but I think we will be making that 2 days from now on, and doing our best to avoid flights with connections.

Coming home, anyone flying through Toronto or Montreal were facing massive delays and cancellations, while Ottawa was safe... thankfully our flight home was direct (most flights to Ottawa connect through Toronto or Montreal).
