Trimline completed the conversions of jazz clubs into smoke-free casinos on three Royal Caribbean ships - Harmony of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.

It transformed the areas concurrently and while the ships were in service around the US using ride-on squads, with each vessel taking approximately two weeks to transform.

Easing disruption to passengers and crew

Trimline's team of demolition and removal experts, joiners, electricians, decorators, and labourers worked closely with data, IT, and casino commissioning specialists to ensure the work was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to passengers and crew. They carefully handled materials around the ship and adjusted their work patterns to accommodate passenger and crew movements.

TAPP software

Trimline ascribed ‘meticulous pre-planning and commitment of the team’ to the project’s success as well as its TAPP software, which enabled Trimline and Royal Caribbean to monitor progress in real-time and ensure that all work was completed on time and within budget.

Trimline PM Billy Morton said, ‘It's been an absolute pleasure to work with Royal Caribbean on these conversions. The team has worked tirelessly to ensure that the work is delivered to the highest standards, and we are delighted with the results. We're confident that these new smokeless casinos will provide an enjoyable experience for the guests on board.’

Booooo......hissss......bring back jazz music.

There is jazz music just not in a dedicated "jazz club." They play it on the promenade, in Boleros, in the music hall, and in Central Park.

Assuming there is no bar in these new spaces? I wonder about drink service also

On Oasis there is no bar in the non-smoking casino.  There is spotty drink service.

To answer another question, there are slots and tables.

The Jazz Club was always an intriguing spot for me. On every sailing I've been on, the Jazz Club has been virtually empty, with never more than 10 patrons listening to the music. The talent has always been quite good, and while I'm not a huge jazz fan, I do like that genre to wind down with a glass of wine or cognac before bed.

Clearly, RCL needed to refresh the venue and make better use of the space.

According to the latest Crown & Anchor newsletter...

"You can now play smoke-free onboard Oasis®, Allure ®, Harmony®, WonderSM — and soon
Symphony of the Seas
®. Each ship will now have a separate non-smoking Casino RoyaleSM with 2,500 square feet of slot machines and table games, a dedicated cashier window and dedicated beverage service."

Just wondering....by opening this non-smoking room, does that mean the entire main casino allows smoking through-out? Or are there still non-smoking areas in there? Thx

Pretty sure I read somewhere that there would be no change to the main casino. Still part smoking, part non.

They should have made this the smokers casino.

Totally agree. At the very least do 2 or 3 ships they way they did, and the other ships reversed, with the smoking in the small one and do that for at least a year and compare the results.

I would not be surprised if the smoke free casino eventually expands into the Diamond Club space.

For that or other uses, the Diamond Clubs are on borrowed time unfortunately following the success of the introduction of the drinks vouchers.
