She claims the per user speed caps went away as soon as they switched to Starlink. Her statement was "They are set 999 up and 999 down, the maximum setting". Do you believe that ?

I didn't think to test more because I figured it was capped. For the rest of the time my tests are consistent with no effective throttling.
Pratique Posted June 21, 2023 #53 Share Posted June 21, 2023 Consistently getting 9.5 down and 3.7 up on Oasis around the ship. Just had an hour long Teams call with several short dropouts. It’s useable if the other participants are patient with it.

Thx It’s one of the few ships where speed is throttled way less than the norm (you might see 100Mbps down speed vs. the usual 4Mbps). WiFi calling should work fine.

volk904 Posted October 12, 2023 #59 Share Posted October 12, 2023 We just got off the Harmony. I thought the Wi-Fi pretty good most places but it depends on time of day and where you were on the ship. Saturday night I wanted to stream the ND Louisville football game. The first half in the dinning room on my phone it would not stream but the game tracker worked. In the second half the stream worked great in my cabin and I watched the whole second half. The other thing is the Wi-Fi is much weaker on the balcony. I will assume because the sending units are in the hallway.

Can you use wifi calling? What are the best areas for internet access? Using it midship in our balcony cabin is crucial for us.

I called from my cabin, and I saw a banner on my cell that said your signal is weak and you may drop the call. It all turned out fine. The problem has always been receiving texts, but I don't miss the spam calls. edit: the public areas seem to be better. The problem may be too many using one router. The closer you are to a router will make a difference. I realize that sounds obvious, but it makes a difference on Radiance class ships. The problem also can be routers that are overwhelmed in public areas. We are B2B2B. On the first cruise, we were on deck 3 almost dead center and far away from both stairwell routers, with horrible reliability. On this cruise, we are close to the forward elevators. Much better internet in our cabin. I have seen reports of contractors boarding a ship and upgrading network WiFi. Hopefully, they add additional hallway routers that you see on the newer ships. brewster812 Posted October 30, 2023 #65 Share Posted October 30, 2023 We are doing a TA on Rhapsody in a few weeks (Barcelona to Lauderdale) and are wondering what kind of connectivity we’ll have in the middle of the Atlantic. Does anyone have any experience with this on a Vision class ship recently?

Coverage over the Atlantic has been reported as pretty good during the spring TAs so it should only get better with the fall ones. Like the rest of the fleet, Rhapsody has been upgraded to Starlink. Your individual connection performance may vary around the ship.
