Fionboard Posted April 30, 2023 #52 Share Posted April 30, 2023 Sorry again. It is the lunch which starts at Caribbean. No officers present though!

We arrived at CPS today at 11:55, there was a huge line of people waiting outside the terminal. There was someone walking along by the luggage pods telling people with priority boarding times that were at 12:00 or before to ignore the line and enter the terminal. We walked straight in past hundreds of people waiting outside. We then walked straight to a check in desk with no queue, checked in and was on the ship within 20 mins max. We’ve had our lunch in meridian which was lovely. We’ve in the sky dome now having a glass of wine 👌 Our boarding pass had 12:00 noon boarding time. It clearly stated priority boarding on it. We’re Caribbean level. The check in lady gave us our embarkation lunch ticket when we checked in. I don’t see why the current system should cause anyone a problem. If everyone of Caribbean and above gets 12pm and can walk straight on , then the idea of suite pasengers being whisked straight through, doesn't hold water. Unless it means everyone in Caribbean and above can enter terminal at 12pm but going onto ship is then done in specific order.

Not in my experience - suite passengers are lumped in with Caribbean and above. Depending on ship/itinerary it can be a big issue. Having had a suite on a long cruise on Arcadia we were in the queue for the best part of an hour!!

Did you raise it with P&O, their promise of suites being whisked straight through, vs reality.

Fionboard Posted May 1, 2023 #58 Share Posted May 1, 2023 As I said, suites and Caribbean and above are sat in a separate area and then boarded according to tier level and cabin grade. Depends on how early embarkation commences though. Can vary!
davecttr Posted May 1, 2023 #59 Share Posted May 1, 2023 On Arvia last cruise I had a 12 noon boarding time Priority Caribbean tier. The case was through the hole in the wall by 11.20 and I was whisked past the queue to the check in desk, a passport check and boarding pass stamped with no questions asked. Then directed to the Caribbean tier seating with Baltic and Ligurian to our left. Security opened at 11.45 with Suite Baltic and Ligurian plus some assisted passengers first then Caribbean by seating row. On ship by 12.10 and boarding pass scanned at muster station.

Yes it uses those exact words in the brochure. It's more than advertising blurb, the brochure forms the basis of your contract with P&O.

Cabins ready was delayed by Norovirus sanitising and the cabins ready announcement and my corridor section cabins had not been serviced. Officers and stewards running around and can you come back in 20 minutes. OK Crows Nest is only 20 yards away. Cabin now serviced but no TV's worked aboard until we sailed. Also found a half consumed large cake in the fridge which I wanted to put my epipens in. No answer on phone to reception so joined the big queue down on deck 7. I find it is better to be pleasant than angry so I said I bet you would like a stiff drink and a lie down in a dark room. She smiled and nodded. She made a phone call and said go back to the cabin sir and there will be someone clearing and sanitising the fridge which there was. BTW there are 2 glass holders in the bathroom but no longer any glasses to fit even if you ask

Well the Ligurian and suite passengers are together and board at the same time and have for years. Baltic are next then Caribbean. This has been the case on all our cruises since COVID (11) and before Covid. On the last cruise assistance passengers and scooter passengers with priority were boarded in the area and the far end of the building where the suite and Ligurian passengers wait. They had all gone when went through.

Rare Windsurfboy Posted May 2, 2023 #73 Share Posted May 2, 2023 Suite begin on shore. Can you tell us about them? A. As one of our Suite guests, you’ll be checked in with priority and welcomed into our hospitality lounge by our Loyalty team, where you can relax with a selection of teas, coffees and fresh pastries while you chat with your fellow guests. You’ll then be escorted by our Loyalty team onto the ship with our Ligurian tier guests, to settle into on-board life before our other guests arrive. In my experience there are at least four errors in that statement (and yes I know that it is the "official" blurb) - and that was pre Covid, post Covid 90% of it is untrue.
