RichL Posted May 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Researching for our first post COVID cruise and I’m reading both yes and no regarding your sea pass being punched. Some are saying no problem and others are saying the card will be inactivated. Can any recent NCL Pearl cruisers verify? We sail 18 August, Boston to Bermuda. Thanks in advance. redlock Posted May 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Think it has been stopped, certainly has on the ships I have been on since covid. Escape, Dawn and Jade
RocketMan275 Posted May 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2023 You can get lanyards with clips or pockets to hold your card. Try amazon.

Like any modern hotel or cruise ship, if they use an RFID card, it has circuitry throughout the card and punching a hole through the wiring will render it inoperative. BTW: It is not a Sea Pass card, you are not on Royal.
RichL Posted May 12, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted May 12, 2023 I know Sea Pass is RCCL and that is whyI did not capitalize sea pass to make it generic. 😄
tcruisin77 Posted May 12, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Don’t do it! We brought the hole puncher last summer for our cards on the Pearl. We then had to proceed to a crowded Guest Services to get new ones. The key will not open your door once punched. Since then, we use the lanyard with clear pouch or I just keep it in my wristlet. Have a great trip!
Rare www3traveler Posted May 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2023 NO because of the chip in them. I have a small credit card holder that I keep my room key and in my pocket.

Rare insidecabin Posted May 14, 2023 #16 Share Posted May 14, 2023 They can build the RFID cards ore punched and they still work in the printers. Some cruise lines use them
