I never really bothered looking before, but people sell a variety of Celebrity stuff on eBay, including some crazy items from all over the ship.

Apparently, nothing is holy and even water bottles and slippers are available! 😅

Have you ever bought or sold Celebrity trinkets online, away from the Cruise Ship?

Gobsmacked! That much for used water bottles acquired for nothing!

I should have played closer attention to this in the past. 😄

I was looking for offers from people who sell their ship models, but there don't seem to be many available at reasonable prices (and the pricing onboard is obscene).

Some other items of interest

X branded used dinner plates

Slippers

Tote bags

Credit card holders/Wallet

Domino set with cards and wooden box

We were told by the Hotel Director on a X ship a few years ago that a room steward came into a passenger’s cabin to clean and found their suitcase open on the floor. Inside the suitcase was an entire set of X place settings for 12 people. The local authorities were notified and were waiting for him at the Terminal at debarkation. He was arrested.

So be careful if you're pinching the plates. 😉

They could be considered as “collectors items” since X is replacing them with plastic water bottles. 😉

I can't believe someone would steal plates!  I mean they could easily break and put you over the weight limit for airline baggage 😅

yah, hence the 'rare' comment!  😇  Honestly people stealing things from ships to sell (if that's truly what's happening here) is just...so off.

I believe they were “locals”, going home by car.

Credit card holders/Wallet

I use one of those every time I cruise to carry ID (Passport Card), CC, and calling cards.  X is the only cruise line I have ever got them from.  Don't know if X still gives them out, but I still have a few left.  Older ones lasted longer than newer ones.

Meh I don’t buy that story. For one, they (X) would have simply told the guest to return the items, if he refuses then yes police will be called.

Customs doesn’t care about bringing plates into the county and law enforcement wouldn’t care if the company knew about it but didn’t ask the customer to return the stuff first.

I can't think of a time we've even taken gifts back, necklace, wallet, tote and even the crappy bubbly often in our room, we just leave it all behind.  And to think between all our sailings we could be $67 richer 😅

I should have done that from day one and used the proceeds to subsidize my casino losses.

We have received the CC holders when booking future cruises (pre covid) while onboard.

I do have a lot of the lanyard/Big X ornament things that they used to give to winner of Activity games.

Maybe they should go up on Craigs List?🤔

Believe it or not, your choice.

The reason for the arrest was because of the total dollar amount of what was being taken.

These things happen when you remove the auto-tips!

I think the story is made up from X hoping to deter theft.  If you're a thief, why steal ONLY a dozen plates/setups and leave your suitcase open when you leave?  Then unless you're rude to your cabin attendant, I can't imagine many would bother to report it but how would they know for certain they're X's plates? Cabin attendants generally only eat in the crew mess hall with far less fancy plates and I'd be very surprised if any cabin attendant knows every every plate on X ship.    While it would be unusual to bring plates onto a sailing, I don't think a porter carrying baggage on would care to remove them to put them in the naughty room

Even less believable. How would they be able to attach a realistic value to a used plate. Let alone a high enough value to warrant an arrest.

I don’t doubt that guy telling you that, however I doubt the authenticity of that story. In other words: He lied. 😉
