Additional update: new scheduled for arrival into Saint John is 10 AM tomorrow for an extended stay until  9 PM, before setting sail back direct to NY to seek safe harbor against Lee, arriving in area sometime on Friday ... cruise terminal not expected to be available until later or next day.

Shorex booked thru NCL are being cancelled & refunded automatically for the 3 original port's scheduled ones.

Further details to follow.

Safe travels to all of you on your return. The news here is warning us of bad coastal onslaught from LI to Canada. I hope the waves won't be too high and you can enjoy your sea days. Mother Nature always wins.

Bah! The steward delivering the card about the time change tonight should have been our clue. I thought it was weird.

Not sure yet about the excursion we had scheduled for 8:30am in St. John since we won’t arrive until 10. I assume there will be info about it later.

The app has updated our itinerary , but the My Plans portion is still the old itinerary. It’s strange to see our tender to Bar Harbor still on the schedule for St John tomorrow.

Oh well, a three day cruise of the Hudson! It’s still a cruise, right?

WOW!!!  Sorry for trip interruption.  Prayers for the Bridge as they navigate the storm.  Prayers for the Hotel Management Staff as they deal with unhappy passengers.  Prayers for the passengers that the rough seas do not create too many problems.  Prayers for you and your family members.  I pray that this system does not create too many problems for those living along the Eastern Coast and in particular the NYC area.

BIG BIG BIG BIG HUG

@The P and @Turtles06 and all - we are enjoying tonight's dinner at Taste.  It is what it is, mother nature always has the upper hand. Cruise ship pax are mostly enjoying as we steam toward SJ for morning arrival. Just feel bad for others needing to make plans for flights, hotels and other new arrangements.

Henry - based on what I read elsewhere, disembarkation will occur on Sunday morning, as usual. You will all stay onboard until then.

That was my understanding as well. Cruise isn’t cut short they will just get us back so we can potentially do things off the ship in NY. Originally the Capt said it would be late Saturday before they thought a pier would open up since we aren’t th only ship impacted. Of course all subject to change.

Thanks, I suspect that the earliest will be sometime on Saturday depending on port availability with a berth. If someone can check out what's scheduled, it will help to clear the rumors. Wind & swell will be high but not expectong monster waves. Well stocked with meds. We will ride things out, much appreciated.   Hey, won't be surprised with a CTN down coastal NJ where things should be calmer. I will watch Windy App & tune to marine VHF radios for traffic news once we get near the harbor, on my smartphone App.

ABC News is reporting tonight that a small cruise ship (206 passengers) from a company out of Norway has run aground in a national park in Greenland.  The Danish Coast Guard it might take several days to get a ship close enough to rescue Her.  The Coast Guard is hoping that with a high tide, She can rescue Herself.

The good news is that the weather here is supposed to be beautiful Friday -Sunday, so people can use the ship as a hotel and enjoy NYC.

It is evident that you guys are well-seasoned travelers by how you bend with the wind and ride with the waves. No drama. No outrage. No demand for a free cruise.

😎😁😊 My BIL just wanted to make sure that we get to Cagney's tomorrow night plus the free bottle of wine. Assured him that I will reconfirm that our La Cucina for Friday night is protected (that's another bottle of wine) but we did change Moderno's schedule - maybe will see if we can go Food Republic for lunch instead.

Good thing we did duty-free shopping last night. The whole ship is rocking with positive energy from what we could tell. They might need to kick us off, 😆 lol.

Sounds like you will have a blast on the ship even if you have to miss out on blueberry pie in Bar Harbor. Last year I sailed your itinerary on the Breakaway and ate lobster rolls at every port. I was on a mission.

Day 3 Portland, Maine (10:00 - 19:00) Cont.

We headed to the Manhattan Dining Room for dinner. This is our favorite MDR, it’s never crowded, the live music is a nice touch and it is much more open and not cramped like Taste or Savor. DW preordered French Onion soup and chicken with a baked potato and broccoli. They also brought her GF bread. Dessert was a miss, it was like they brought a bowl of blueberry pie filling from a can. Now she loves blueberries, but she said it wasn’t very good and a rather odd choice, so that was disappointing. Something went awry here tonight as she got sick a few hours later, so we think maybe the sauce on the chicken had gluten in it? The bread seemed like gluten free bread but there was gluten somewhere. She said everything flavor wise was fine, and the chicken was nicely cooked.

I got the chicken lettuce wraps. The Asian spare ribs and the bang bang chicken and shrimp. For Dessert the No sugar added fruit tart sounded good so DW wasn’t eating alone and it was light. The lettuce wraps were great, IMO better than P.F. Chang’s. The ribs were good, they were perfectly cooked and fell off the bone, the sauce could have had a bit more flavor but otherwise a solid dish. The entree was also a solid choice, a slight kick and the chicken and shrimp were both well cooked and not overdone. The fruit tart was also good, nice flaky crust and a creamy custard, a nice way to end the meal. Overall, not the best we have had onboard but not the worst (flavor wise).

After dinner we went to the mentalist show at 19:30. It was about 80% full but we had no issue finding a seat 5 min before showtime. This was a great show, very entertaining and lots of audience engagement. Highly recommend.

After the show we tried to hit the comedy club but it was packed so we called it a night. On the way back to the room we stopped by Cagneys as we are eating there tomorrow night for dinner so DW could preorder a few items.

Just about docked now at 9:45 AM - going to be a long walk with a smaller ship docked closer.

Having breakfast at O'Sheehan's - menu is simple.  Sorry, they do not have hash browns 😕 Not a deal breaker but some will be disappointed ☹️ a bit.

The ship needs to leave port of NYC so that they can open the casino. Too bad they can’t use it as a floating hotel for those who would would like to visit tge city snd return to shop similar to Bermuda overnights.

Yes the new schedule shows only a 2 hour port call in NY Friday morning then a cruise to nowhere for the balance until Sunday morning. My guess is to refresh supplies/fuel as they typically would at most every port, no disembarkation planned.
