What (if anything) is NOT included on board?

Recommended Posts

Uh oh - me again.

My understanding is that *almost* everything is included on board.  We also know that if we want to do the cookery classes or some of the excursions there is a fee. (We've booked a cooking class.)  We're not likely to want them, but know that cigars in the Connoisseur lounge are not included. I get that some top shelf drinks might not be included, but what counts as top shelf?

What else is **not** included in the fare? (Is there somewhere I can find a comprehensive list?)

Thanks :))

Not included:

  • Spa treatments & purchases
  • Boutique purchases
  • Casino & Bingo "investments"
  • Medical costs (should be reimbursed through your travel insurance)
  • Some specific excursions (most ports have a range of included excursions)
  • "Premium" wines and spirits (we find the quality and range of included offerings to be perfectly acceptable)
  • Special wine pairing lunches & caviar tastings
  • Cookery classes
  • Dry cleaning (laundry & pressing are included)
  • Internet streaming (Basic Wi-Fi and internet access is included)

Inclusions are the same for all suite grades

Flossie said it perfectly, but to clear up some of the included items which were inadvertently listed as excluded in Jonoro7’s list (laundry, gym, WiFi and excursions):

The Gym is included.  Personal training and some other activities may be extra.

There are a plethora of included excursions but some locations may cause you to want to spurge on an optional excursion.

Everyone gets free laundry and they are good at it.  You can pack much less as a result,

Internet for one device is included for all.  Certain loyalty members or Concierge and above get four devices.  As stated by Flossie, streaming is optional AND you then may be limited back to one device.

Some use of the spa (steam, cold room, whirlpool) is also included - spa treatments were pricey!

The spirits were just fine.  The included wines were passable.  I may be inclined to buy off the list next time.  But, on our last cruise, we had a ZERO bill at the end.

We will be in a Superior Suite.  When you say that internet for one device is included, does this mean one device per passenger or one device per cabin?  Particularly, I’m wondering if I need to purchase a wifi package so that both my husband and I can use our iPads onboard.  Thanks!

Is the free laundry unlimited?

Yes. And very well organized. This is one inclusion that really sets Regent aside from competition.

It is one login per superior suite at a time, but it is ok to logoff one device and switch to another one.

Concierge suite and above get 4 logins per suite. Gold loyalty status and above also get 4 logins no matter what level suite.

When sending laundry, can you specify cool water, hang dry? Otherwise, will do my own in the laundrette.

Yes. I "trusted" them for the first time on my last cruise to not dry certain items and it worked beautifully.  I simply marked items I wanted to hang dry with an asterisk and made a note in the "Comments" space.

This is SO very helpful to me. I wash All of my nice clothes on delicate and then I line dry them or lay flat. I never put my clothes in the dryer (unless they are my 35 year old sweatpants).

Almost didn't give away this tip. There is a tailor on board. Tailoring is NOT an included item but is at a very competitive price AND this tailor comes to your "home"! have used this service on about 5 cruises and results have always been satisfactory.

Another included fun item, not mentioned often, are postcards from Reception Desk. Also, Regent pays postage and mails - been sending to grandchildren and friends for years - they often arrive after we have been home for weeks.

LOVE these tips (especially the tailor!).

The ship provides the detergent and this is done so there is little impact to the ocean after the water get run through the various cleaning processes before getting put in the ocean.

On the Grandeur, Regent provides detergent BUT it is not automatically added to the machine so maybe you could use the Tide modules.

For us, the included laundry perk for all guests is one of the most attractive perks. It allows us to pack lighter and have less baggage to haul around airports. Our experience with the laundry has been excellent. But we do avoid taking clothing items that require special handling.

I am, in no way, obsessed with environmental issues, but if Regent provides a detergent, you should use it. The wash water goes into the ocean on a cruise ship, and Regent has had to investigate what is safe for overboard discharge, and what isn't. A quick search on Tide pods brings up a number of concerns with them. I would go with the Regent's choice.
