If she was all that, she would have used her own sail and sign card to get you a "free" drink.

Cheers package for all of us so drinks already included. I just didn't have to move and navigate the bar line. And who really knows if I would have been able to sign or not?🤔

I guess that's nice to know. He has been Outstanding and there for any other need we have ever had. Won't ever book unless threw him even though online available. Casino Dept has more leeway it looks and sounds like.

Not really.  A PVP can book any offer that the Carnival casino dept has extended.  However, it sounds like the offer you mentioned came from the land casino, not the Ocean Players Club.

Mine doesnt even call me

Now that's a real shame as mine does send me emails keeping me up to date. I also get a lot of offers from Carnival in the mail and my PVP is always the call back contact.

Mine doesn't either unless I contact her first (and I'm fine with that), but she does email me with offers.

My friends booked our last cruise without involving my PVP (they booked direct), but for our intended 2025 cruise I want to book through her.

ya nope no offers either those come from the Players Club mostly. Although in fairness to the original question posted i was surprised by my PVP once when he called after i requested a new PVP.

Had to issue a wake up call. Shame this is what it took.

My PVP has been great with regard to Covid, change of dates on sailings, finding cabins that I couldn't see on my lap top and communication with me.  I have referred her to my friends and she has taken care of them well.  When I chat with her, I feel like I'm chatting with a friend.  That's enough for me.👍

Yes. My PvP botched a casino offer and it took a lot of effort to fix it. It was at that exact moment I realized I don’t need a PvP so I don’t use one. That mess up would have cost me more than any benefit she ever provided.

Mine knows what cruises interests me and knows what time of year I cruise. When she runs across a good deal she sends it. Normally a few weeks before the cruise she sends really nice luggage tag holders with a metal cable type ring that holds them. Last cruise she sent a $50 Visa card. Some cruises she gets our gratuities paid or specialty restaurant. It pays to have a great PVP. I've never seen her but she has become a friend over the years.

Mine surprised me by retiring!  😞 Such a loss; he was friendly, helpful, perhaps responsible for spa gift cards in the cabin once for a special occasion, and knew when it was time to book again and called me with deals.  Now I book online - and take my chances if I have to call Carnival's phone.

Those gift cards were from the room attendants. It was a thing for awhile.

Now that you mention it, I remember those "gift cards" as something like, $50 off of a spa treatment that is $200. I never used them.

I used a PVP when I first sailed Carnival and he couldn't answer basic questions,  I had already been on 15 cruises with other lines and my questions were specific to Carnival.  Turns out he had never been on a cruise and had no idea what I was talking about.  I never called him or another PVP again.

I'll use a TA if it's a trip involving multiple flights, destinations and/or cruises with international travel but otherwise I'll just book on my own if it's a simple cruise and I'm driving to the port (or flying a short distance).

Smooth sailing!

I used them for blowouts and they covered the cost plus tip.

Yes! My old Carnival PVP surprised me with a nasty text message because I booked a cruise with a group of family and friends and didn't book through him.  As if he owned me or something.  Needless to say he's my former PVP!

Once we got a call on our cabin phone.  My husband picked it up and the person said that there was an "important message" for me.  My heart was pounding as I took the phone.  Did one of my parents pass away?  Did something happen to one of my kids?

No.  It was someone from the spa offering me $50 off a service.  Needless to say, I was really angry.

I would be thinking the same thing. 🤬

I once had a PVP (no longer at CCL) who made a cabin change on the booking at our request, whatever he did ended up resulting in a cancelation message by email. I called him and he got it rebooked. However, it was one of those pandemic deals where we got 20% off Cheers. Because of the cancelation... we lost the Cheers deal and it was refunded. He refused to help us get the deal back as it wasn't his job...ugh. after much time and effort with CS was able to get it back. was done with him after that.

We have had two great PVP since the early 2000s.  When my first PVP was promoted, they assigned us a new PVP and he reached out to us for an introduction.  He has been great too!  I like having a connect person if an issue would arise.  I have had some bad experiences with travel agents, can't seem to find a good one.
