The spa in the Eclipse

I am wondering if the spa on the Eclipse is worth whatever they might be charging.  I will be doing a 13 night TA next year.  I was recently on the NCL Bliss and they had a great spa which included a jetted pool, steam, sauna, snow, and salt rooms.  What might I expect on the aeclipse?

Not a spa person but do know that none of the ships have a pool in the spa.  The Solarium has an adults only pool.

My husband and I are thinking of booking the Persian Garden area of the spa, but when I went to do it, it says you have to book a time? I thought it was a walk in and use it when you want kind of area. The time slots are for 15 minutes. Can you only stay in there 15 minutes as the price for this area is expensive?

If you are sailing in Aqua Class, you just walk in.  However, if you are purchasing a day pass, they like to know what time you will be arriving so as to avoid overcrowding.  There have not been any time limits for the Persian Gardens.

We were recently on the Eclipse.  Good ship.  Yes I think it’s worth it.  I’m on Millie next with the bench warm seat.  How do you relax sitting next to someone?  Next you’ll tell me I have to share the steam room.

On a different note I believe RCCL Voyager and Freedom class ships have a large jetted hot tub in the spa.

Can children use the spa or is it adult only?

In our experience it was adults only, although there is a youth program for ages 13-17 with parental consent for certain spa treatments.  Don't know how that works on ships with the hot tub included in the spa, although it does restrict them from the sauna and steam rooms so I would think that may include the hot tubs?

The spa on eclipse gives you Persian Garden.  No tub of any kind.  Has sauna, heated loungers and thats it.  We were in Aqua and entitled to go any time.  Stopped in once and that was it.  Aqua is good for Blu.  Nothing else.

If you only want to use Blu then you’ll use Blu.  The Persian Garden was perfectly fine.   I don’t understand why people pay more for services then don’t use them.  Like the folks who book Retreat or Aqua then eat in the MDR because it’s “better”.

You can't eat in Blu unless you are booked Aqua.  That's why we book it.  If Persian Gardens had hot tubs, then that would be another good Aqua benefit.  As it is, no interest for us.

Since you mentioned the Bliss, a comparison: The Spa on NCL ships is far nicer than on any of the Celebrity ships. Have been on both lines, several ships.

On Celebrity ships the S class (Eclipse) and E class have a much better spa area than the M class. The Persian Gardens on the M class, IMHO are a bit sad. The solarium areas are nice.

I remember they used to, but I think(??), they have redone that area and removed them when they added the panoramic ocean view cabins on that deck. I know Explorer had one long time ago and it was very nice!

I’ve been in the steam/sauna/heated lounger areas on M-Class and E class. I was not in Aqua. We purchased a pass for the entire cruise and never had to make a reservation for the visit. Just showed our sea pass card. I think the 15 minute deal is just an online reservation glitch or some such. My husband is a big fan and he gets his money’s worth. I can take it or leave it. To each his own.
