Odd or out of the box suggestions for Carnival

Recommended Posts

Who has a rather unique or even odd suggestion for Carnival that might work?

For example, i was fortunate enough to see 56 jimmy buffett concert. Before most (if not all) the last song played over the PA before band took the stage was " Hot Hot Hot" by Buster Poindexter.  Id love to see that concept for sailaway day. Maybe with "Come Sail Away" by Styx. I know its a dance party but id love one rocker for da oldies!

Im sure that a big hit at the piano bar as i recall that ditty being player at dueling piano bars back in the early 90s.

Once upon a time im sure sushi and teppanyaki at sea was an obscure concept. Or trivia games. Or paying $20/day for internet!

I would like to see a specialty dining package.  I like Royal’s, where you can choose three or seven nights. Celebrity has one, and I spent my entire week eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in their specialty restaurants.  It was a highlight of that cruise.

On the Excel class, they could bundle Rudi’s, the Steakhouse, and Emeril’s or sushi for a nice package.

This has only happened to us once.  Our first cruise after the Restart was the first week of September 2021 on Magic.  I don't believe it was Magic's first cruise after Restart but maybe it was.  As we walked into the Atrium, a large number of Carnival staff cheered with "Celebrate" playing.  The CD high fived us and the Atrium bartender gave us half glasses of champagne.  It was fabulous!  Maybe just the Fun Squad and the Playlist crew cheering and clapping now (I know many of the crew need to be working) and the half glasses of champagne?

Televise the various deck parties. I cruise solo now that I’m a widow and being alone and also I guess I’m just getting too old to START  celebrating deck parties at 10pm! (I also get up early in mornings) I remember years ago they had video cameras  mounted and you could watch all the fun from the comfort of your cabin in your Jammie’s! 🥳😁😉

We like that about RCCL dinner plans too, we would also like to see a coffee type plan for specialty coffees (more than just the punch card).

In the casino, especially in the morning carnival should have a cart filled with various juices and coffee. Wheel it around the casino and serve the guests

Excellent idea!
when we were on MG on an Ultra sailing they did this.

I was just on the Vista and although I don’t think it was a promotional sailing, it would have been nice to get coffee there since finding a bar server in the early morning is like finding a jackalope.

Before Covid there was a small specialty dining package on the Vista class ships…something like $60 for steakhouse, sushi and Guy’s Dinner? It was a great deal.

@ninjacat123 DCL does the welcome thing still but no champagne. I agree, it’s a nice touch.

Right now I’d be happy with staffing increased for stewards and mdr…can cruising just be sort of closer to what it used to be? Very tired of seeing staff running around like chickens. Sucks all the joy right out of the vacation.

as i recall they did have horse races on the cruise as it was held on the lido deck- i would love a glass of champagne as i board the ship-they also had a male nightgown contest as well- back in 1982 they didn't have movies or trivia either but they also had an awesome captain's cocktail party and midnight buffet
