Captain Albert's review of Cunard

.  I received the e-mail from Captain Alberts website but for some reason the link to the review did not work for me.  Thank you giving me an easy clickable access to his review!  Very interesting as usual!

Very interesting and informative review.

I doubt that top brass at Carnival Corp. are pleased with it…..

Somewhat surprised though to see his criticisms include a fellow Captain, even if valid.

It seems that most of the problems MIGHT have to do with the fact this was an inaugural cruise.  I'd like to see Captain Albert do the exact same cruise in six months or a year and see what he thinks then.

He foresaw your desire and mentioned in his review that he will sail the ship again in December. I was pleasantly surprised by his negative comments. I was expecting a fluff marketing piece from Carnival Corporation.

He has set up his webpage for more reviews. I am looking forward to more. Thanks, clueless2 for calling this to our attention.

I read it as most issues were due to the maiden voyage being the same as the shakedown voyage, which was a really bad decision, and understaffing, which is becoming an issue for most lines. There are some obvious design issues related to storage (Princess Grill cabins on the other Cunard ships have significantly more wardrobe space than this), size of the venues relative to passenger capacity, etc.

Essentially, what I have read elsewhere implies Cunard is trying to have a new experience and market to a new segment with their new ship, but don’t quite know how to move from the old methods to the new. Be interesting to see how - or if - they work it out.

Edited to add: Thanks for posting the link. I would probably never have stumbled over it otherwise.

Interesting read and nice to see the difference of style and formality from HA.  Obviously Cunard does not offer casinos.  Thanks for sharing this.

They do, forward on deck 3, just aft of the theater.
