My AMEX card had a new offer, spend $500 on Celebrity and get $100 back…

Already got my $100 back to the card. Purchased on 6/19/2024 and got credit 6/21/2024. Just wish I could use it more than once

I don't think it's been showing up on any of the co branded cards.  It's not on my Delta Gold card.

We had the same concern, so we contacted Celebrity itself to add an excursion and OBC to make up the $500 minimum.

I did 3 orders that added to $500 on the 19th and the credit showed up today.

I mixed it up so the AMEX people wouldn't think it fraudulent.  I did $225, $175, and $100.  I was worried if they saw multiple charges for the same amount, they might put a temporary hold on the card.  We have the offer on my husbands card too (he's an authorized user in the same acocunt) so I think I'll do it again now that I know it works.

Just FYI you can call Celebrity and buy OBC over the phone in any amount. I’ve done this many times for Celebrity and Royal. It’s refundable OBC also, so if you don’t spend it all it will be refunded to the card used for your onboard account.

Thanks for the heads-up. I saw an email from AmEx in my mailbox today but hadn't opened it. I already made the first payment on the cruise I booked today, but I have another one with a balance due in just over a week, so I will definitely use the AmEx card for that!!

I did the same yesterday.  So far, no record of any charges on my Amex card.  Odd that it hasn't shown even as pending, but I presume that will change soon.

It was a slow process... took a couple of days to show 'pending' and then a couple more days to get the credit.  Might just try calling for the second $500.

I made a payment yesterday (Monday) and the credit has already showed up in my Gold account today (Tuesday).  It shows as Celebrity MIRAMAR whatever that is.

Just to follow up, the charges did show up as $500 pending on my Amex, so I assume I'll see the $100 credit soon.  $100 in free money?  Who am I to argue?

I also received an amenities ordered invoice from Celebrity, not only showing the $500 OBC that I bought, but showing that the travel agent bought me a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, which is a pretty solid sparkler and very nice of them.  The part that I found interesting is that they charged the travel agency $33 for the bottle.  If I were to have bought it, the price would be $137 per bottle, so that must be a perk that they offer to travel agents.

Miramar is a city in Broward Cty FL. Suburb of Miami, probably where Celebrity has their business office.
