smokeybandit Posted July 9 #52 Share Posted July 9 (edited) I believe much of Galveston is still without power. The Port of Galveston is still closed. Edited July 9 by smokeybandit

smokeybandit Posted July 9 #54 Share Posted July 9 As of last night Mariner was hoping to come into port at 1pm. It doesn't appear the port has power yet though. I assume they have generators, but would that be enough to process the next group?
Rare cruiselvr04 Posted July 9 #55 Share Posted July 9 Royals new terminal is mostly solar in Galveston so the terminal should be ok. But getting provisions into the port may not be possible. TBD. It probably depends on how fast the water recedes and debris on the roads. It didn’t sit on top of anywhere like Harvey so that’s a good thing.
Rare jennellen Posted July 9 #56 Share Posted July 9 (edited) There is a lady that is live off and on on Tiktok named @tiffanytravels07 that is currently on the Mariner. She said they're being told they'll dock at 1pm and be able to disembark starting at 2pm. But they've been told that could change. They're getting 50% off any alcoholic drinks on these extra days. They're supposed to have an announcement at noon to let them know if the plan to dock at 1pm is still on. Edited July 9 by jennellen 1

Galveston Cruiser Posted July 9 #58 Share Posted July 9 Update: Just saw this on the most recent post from the Port Of Galveston: For those whose vehicles were parked at the port during Hurricane Beryl: Port police found no visible evidence of flooding in Port of Galveston cruise parking lots. When leaving the island, PLEASE be aware the majority of traffic lights are not operational. Probably the same going to and through Houston, The City is experiencing a 70% power outage, Surrounding areas have similar conditions. Galveston is resilient and always recovers. I hope everyone enjoyed their cruise and safe travels home 9

Rare jennellen Posted July 9 #61 Share Posted July 9 I'll mention in the live one of the passengers had from this morning on the Mariner, they had been informed onboard about the cars in the port too being okay and no flooding. So they were keeping them updated well onboard. As I'm someone who drives to the Galveston port and parks, that would be a worry, just if it's another thing to deal with. Glad to hear it didn't flood. And for passengers with flights they were given $200 vouchers to help with flight changes. Glad they were able to port and the next group could get on and go out.
