zitsky Posted July 9 #1 Share Posted July 9 I see conflicting info. I’m trying to find out if you can use the Persian Garden before or after a massage treatment on Millie. And can you have a massage in the morning and use the Persian Garden in the afternoon of the same day?
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted July 9 #2 Share Posted July 9 (edited) Use of PG was a hard NO when we got a massage on Equinox last year. If we wanted to use PG, we had to buy a day or week pass...unless booked in an Aqua category. One would think it would be consistent across the fleet but we found out with the loungers on the balcony debacle, that's not how it works on Celebrity. Thus, you will likely get lots of conflicting information. Edited July 9 by Georgia_Peaches
jelayne Posted July 9 #3 Share Posted July 9 The Persian Garden on M class ships does not have the loungers. They have a bench, not enticing. 3
Rare Fly and Sail Posted July 9 #4 Share Posted July 9 Persian Garden on Millennium was very disappointing. Solstice Class is so so, at least they have loungers. FWIW, I took HAL Rotterdam in May, and the Thermal Spa, especially the Thalasso Pool, blew me away. 1

I saw one review of M class that said “oh isn’t it nice to sit on the heated bench and chat with strangers”. That said, I was in the spa on Beyond and was shushed when I tried to ask my husband which room he wanted to go in first, in a normal everyday tone of voice. Right, like I’m really going to sit and chat with strangers. 1

There are signs that many don’t see that request silence. They ignore it by talking on their phones, playing video games with the sound, or watching videos. Agree that the Persian Gardens on the M class really lacks. It is like sitting in a church pew in a dungeon and can get very personable with 4 or more people. Asking someone a question and then carrying on isn't akin to using the phone or tablet without headphones or having a noisy conversation. I do agree though, way too many people ignore the rules. bikerunner Posted July 9 #8 Share Posted July 9 Massages do. Not include use of the Persian gardens. Also I have told to many people to quiet down in the Persian gardens with no issue. I have even gone to desk after one group would not quiet down. They were escorted out by spa manager.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 I was reporting what someone else wrote. I do not think the spa needs to be a funeral home. If I asked you if you want to use the steam room, I don’t think you need to call security. Edited July 10 by zitsky
Jillianr1976 Posted July 10 #10 Share Posted July 10 I was not allowed to use it on ascent when booking a massage. I had moved up from aqua class (which includes it) to a suite and it was a hard no for even an hour. Disappointing for how much we spent... And have never been back to the spa. cleobella Posted July 10 #13 Share Posted July 10 We were on the Solstice recently and the Persian Garden is separate from the treatment areas, you need special key card access to go in, except on the first day when they are running tours. In the old days you could sometimes get access to the thermal area after or before a treatment but I think this is now not possible. Too bad because the spa treatments are very expensive and adding in a brief stay in the thermal area pre or post would make services more attractive. I say add in the Persian Garden access and axe the up sell of products, lol!
Rare DaKahuna Posted July 10 #14 Share Posted July 10 Yes, Persian Garden and the Spa are two separate entities. They are generally coloacted which leads a lot of people to beileve they are part of the same service, as evidenced by the topic of this threat. Unfortunately, they are not.

Completely understandable for a business.

You have customers coming in paying for spa services and you can’t let them use a steam room for 30 minutes? That’s like a gym charging extra to use the pool. Completely understandable? We’ll have to disagree on that one.

Its not free or added as part or the massge would have to be charged more.

Well I’ll have to ask people who go to spas whether the spa (sauna, hot tub, steam room) is normally charged separately from a massage.

And there again, it depends upon which ship class you choose. On M class, the saunas and showers have always been freely accessible.

Some places but also the service of the massage at a or any service at the ones that do are well over 250 plus grats for 50 minute massage if looking at comparable . Plus doesn’t matter if others do it or not, how one places runs there business, Ie cruise does not mean they need to run it like others on land or resorts. If you don’t like the price you don’t do it. Simple.

To your point, when we got massages at the spa while staying at the Ritz Carlton, the thermal amenities were included. Likewise, when we stayed at Chateau Elan for a wine and cooking weekend, we got massages and again, the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room were also included. Now whether or not the price of the massage was padded to reflect the use of the thermal amenities...I guess it could be. But the price was the price, whether we used the other facilities or not. I guess land spas differ greatly from sea spas and like you, I was surprised to learn that PG was not included if you purchased a spa treatment. We no longer bother with ship spas or thermal areas on Celebrity.
