Fort Lauderdale Hotel with Transportation from Airport

Recommended Posts

Take a look around the board...many, many threads on hotels.

Look at visitlauderdale.com, a website that lists all the hotels in Ft Lauderdale, and their amenities,  like shuttles.

Taxis and Ubers are plentiful and relatively cheap in the area. Typically much easier than waiting on a shuttle.

The airport and the port are about 2 miles from each other. We stay at Hyatt PLACE on SE 10th. St. witch is 1 block off of 17th St. 2 miles from airport, and 1/2 mile to the port. They have a shuttle that is $8 P.P. and is reliable. Many other hotels on 17th St. that are nice, we have been to all of them. Embassy Suites is also popular but is being renovated. Its pretty worn out and a very large and busy hotel. Lots of places to eat in this area also.

Just grab an Uber, much more convenient than waiting on a shuttle. If you’ve spent thousands on a cruise a few dollars for an Uber is nothing.

O.P. did not ask about an UBER.

The Hyatts and Hilton Garden Inn Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port in Dania Beach have airport shuttle with both grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance

Hyatt Place...Right next to the Publix shopping area. Shuttle from FLL to hotel $ per room reservation not pp. but a taxi would be a quicker and easy option. They also have a shuttle from hotel to Port Everglades $9.00pp or again a taxi would also be an option.

If using a taxi make sure it's on the meter and not a flat rate.

Enter to use an Uber than a taxi.

No, they did not, But we are advising the OP that it is easier to take a taxi/Uber to a hotel than it is to wait for the shuttle that might only show up once an hour.

Many of the hotel shuttles come when guests call for a pick up.  I haven't ever stayed at a FLL hotel with a shuttle on an once per hour pick up schedule

When I called my hotel for a pickup, they advised the shuttle came hourly.

When we called our hotel we were told the next shuttle to pickup from the airport was full of people waiting and it would be an hour+  before the second one came.  So we called a Lift and we visible saw our ride turn into the Lift area only to be dropped and another one sent. We had this happen once at the end of the cruise too.   We were told later by a friend that there was a priority pick up charge we could have checked so this didn’t happen and that’s why our rides kept picking up other priority rides.   We still got faster transportation than waiting for hotel shuttle.

What hotel?

The Holiday Inn Express on 17th. Fortunately, the wait was only 20 minutes. Unfortunately, there are so many Holiday Inn Express's in the area and none of the shuttles are marked with which one, I kept asking drivers which one to know if that was the one I was waiting for.

Hyatt Place has a shuttle service that sits right in front of the hotel waiting to take passengers to the airport. It takes no more than 10 min to go 2 miles. When at the airport and yo have your bags , just call the shuttle and it will be there in 10 min or less. We have used Hyatt Place over 10 times and have never waited more than 10 min.

We like the Hilton in Ft Lauderdale Beach. That way we can enjoy the beach pre-cruise. There's several good restaurants nearby and you can take Circuit to go around the area. As far as transportation I would recommend skipping any shuttle and just grabbing an Uber or Lyft. It'll be much faster and likely cheaper.

As far as your grocery stuff, you can always have your groceries delivered to you just as you would at home. We typically have our wine/soda/snacks delivered to our hotel.

Had a very good experience at Hyatt House Dania Point, walking distance to Dania Point mall with restaurants and shops.  Our family flying in all used the shuttle from the airport and had no delays, just called and it showed up quickly.   Hyatt Place is across the street, we had 7 so opted for Hyatt House with a 2bed/2bath suite with full kitchen.  Breakfast was very good.  They offer shuttle to port for a fee $13 pp, but our family opted for Uber.  We live in FL so had our vehicle and parked at ParknGo which was great.

Price to port with Uber from 17th street?

It depends on where you're being picked up, what size vehicle you need, time of day, etc. Just use the Uber or Lyft app to see the options with prices. Put in your pickup point and drop-off point and it'll give you options.
