Main Dining Room

Recommended Posts

Is the main dining room open for lunch on embarkation day?  I read/saw somewhere that the MDR is a great alternative to Windjammer (or ship's buffet (I can't remember where I saw this suggestion or remember if it was just a general tidbit of cruising information or specific to RC)).  I'll be cruising in February 2025 on Grandeur (and not purchasing The Key).  Thanks all!

What is open on embarkation day for lunch other than the Windjammer on Symphony?

I’m addition to the WJ there’s CP cafe and some specialty restaurants.

The app set to the current sailing should list dining venue operating hours.

And sorrentos. That's our go to embarkment day lunch. Grab some pizza and watch everyone as they walk into the promenade for the first time.

I can't figure out how to do this! Any idea where I can go to see the current sailing?

I can see a list of restaurants and their hours but am I about to see daily agendas?

I think the poster was responding to the question asked by another poster in this thread on what is open on Symphony (post #3) on embarkation day.

Click on the little person icon at the top.

Scroll down to "Don't see your cruise?" Click "Let's add it now".

Click "Browse our ships"

Select the ship you want and then the current sailing.

Not open on embarkation day.

True for the general public, but they do a fixed menu lunch for people who purchase the Key. On our last three cruises on Adventure in July, there were only a handful of Pinnacles doing B2B, so we were invited to join the Key lunch on TAD. IMHO, not worth the cost of admission.

Yes, forgot Sorrento's and to some extent Promenade Cafe.

The MDR is open to those doing a B2B cruise on TAD. No matter their tier level.

Hope so, as I have a B-B on Utopia and there seems to be some inconstancies to the policy.

All our B2B cruises (no matter the ship or itinerary) we have always had the TAD lunch in the MDR. But we all know what RCI stands for. Royal Consistently Inconsistent. 😉
