Best women's non-slip sandals for wearing on deck ?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for flip flops that won't slip too bad on wet cruise decks?  I recently fell pretty hard on deck from wearing ones that I hadn't noticed had very little tread left and now I'm really nervous about an upcoming cruise.  Need some new shoes  but not sure what would work best.  I might have to go to more of a hiking type sandal but really would like to have some flip flops as well.  Any suggestions of something that has worked for you ladies? TIA!

Consider…

Havaianas - Not 100% (don’t think any are) but DW wears with confidence on wet surfaces

Additional

DW just mentioned that if one wishes for supreme comfort and support, plus a reasonable non slip sole, then push the budget with https://www.canfora.com/pages/handcraft-manufacturing

Of course, the worst thing you can wear on a slippery deck is a flip flop. Alternatively, there are many different deck shoe styles available from Sebago and Sperry.

But, if your heart is set on flip flops, your best bet is OluKai. Google for the web address.

Thanks!  I actually have an older pair of OluKai but found that they weren't as comfortable as my Teva's.  Might have to take a look at the tread as I'm sure they would fine for limited walking.

Look at Keen brand.  Sandals and flip flops.

My husband wears Keens on cruises but honestly I didn't even think about them for women's shoes - I'll take a look!

I had read in an online review that the Oofos were extremely slippery when wet?  both the shoe bed itself and the bottom as well.  I take it that hasn't been your experience....

I'll take a look at them then.  I've heard that they are supposed to be very comfortable shoes.

I love the slip-on canvas shoe, the new sneaker & traditional flip flop. I’m not really a fan of the slides. They all feel like good squishy marshmallows on your feet. If you wear a half size go up to the next whole size

I'm a fan of Keens sandals. They're not particularly femme, but they have some models that are less 'hiking sandals' and more 'everyday sandals'. (But then again, I'm not terribly fashionable, so YMMV.)

I wear them all the time, and I don't find them to get slippy at all.

I also have a pair of Merrill flip flops. I don’t often take them on a cruise as they’re heavy but I never slip in them

Birkenstock Eva waterproof sandals…fun colors too

I second this one. I own the Gizeh Eva style which functions like a flip flop with easy on/off functionality but is way more secure on my foot. It’s the style I adopted in normal

Birks as well when I decided to

stop wearing flip flops.

I’ve had my Gizeh essentials for a few years now. I’ve been wearing them multiple times a week for going to water fitness classes. I’ll say that my foot might be a little slippy inside the shoe with wet feet but they dry quickly and as a whole they aren’t slippery on the pool deck or anywhere else. I also tend to where them when it rains here at home in Florida.
