I wanted to post just a few photos from my cruise (I like lighthouses).

We stayed at the Encore in Boston the night before; this was the lobby!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes-I'm overwhelmed! Just got home from coffee and treats with friends and DS is taking us out for dinner this evening. It's a good day! Meatloaf is best leftover in a sandwich with BBQ sauce. Yum... Also interesting was yesterday's port. We'll be there in January.

Good sunny afternoon . It’s supposed to get up to near 80 by Monday and no rain in sight. The lack of rain is causing a water shortage and restrictions are now in effect.
I am having a frustrating afternoon, I have been trying to place an online order from across the pond ( UK) the order keeps being declined and a chat with my card issuer states some information does not match my account. I believe the problem is the post code is unable to take the longer USA extra digits. Their site can only take 8 digits. Tomorrow I will try a chat with the merchant in the UK. I’m frustrated because last year I placed an order with no problem.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good afternoon and Happy Friday. It’s very windy today with 40 mph gusts. I even wore my hair up in anticipation of the wind but it still got blown around like I was in a wind tunnel. DM had her 6 month (which we stretched out to 9 months) oncology appointment with the results of her lung CT last week.  They saw some extra webbing that may or may not be an issue. Doctor doesn’t think so but to be cautious wants another 6 month CT, and no stretching it out. So April it is. My gosh, she’s 95 and tired of all this, but we will do as the doctor says.

Debbie @dfish, recipe 3 looks good although I probably won’t make it. Just not a soup or stew fan. But I do like beans.

Craig has lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks so I don’t think he needs to lose any more. He’s going to start eating a bit more carbs.

Happy Birthday Joy @Seasick Sailor!!  So special to be on a cruise for your special day!

Happy Birthday Susie @SusieKIslandGirl!!  Enjoy your special day!

Bruce @aliaschief, please tell Sue @DWAliaschief to have a successful recovery after the knee replacement surgery. She has some cruising coming up soon!

Elizabeth @Haljo1935, hoping and praying your meniscus repair goes smoothly and you recover quickly. I’m not sure if I could get in and out of the car like you mentioned. I think I’d be stuck at home.

Graham @grapau27, please give Pauline @Paw13 my condolences on today’s memory of her Mam’s passing.

Have a great day!

Good late afternoon.  The yard is mowed and trimmed, and looks the best it has in several years.  I just hope it looks as good next spring after some TLC.  The mower and trimmed are cleaned for the year and put away for the winter.  I also got all the yard "critters" and the two rain gauges put away.  It was just warm enough this afternoon to be comfortable but not hot enough to sweat.

I'm glad there is left over pot roast for dinner.  All it needs is to be reheated, and a small salad.  The wine glasses will not be small though.

Yes, mine does a weekly self test.

I learned a few things today.

It is 19 years old, one of two its age still working that my tech services. He was impressed. The company still makes circuit board for my model, but that is it.

And this tech was the first to tell me that every time it kicks in & runs, I need to shut it off once a day & check the oil, since they burn oil. I now know how to do that, what kind of oil it takes and where to add it.

I need to start saving to replace it. I have lived here 8.5 years and this is the first time it has not kicked it. Hoping to get another year out of it. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Ann, I'm glad the generator is set for another year, and that you know what maintenance it needs now.  Here's hope it is not needed though.

Vanessa, thanks for all the great pictures which I loved.  The display in the hotel reminds me of the displays in the Bellagio in Las Vegas.  Their floral displays are out of this world.

Susie, I agree there's nothing better than a cold meatloaf sandwich, but for me it has to be on fresh white bread with a lot of mayo.

Sharon, congratulations to Craig on the weight loss.  I hope your DM's next scan shows no change.  When DH was in rehab, they taught him the best way to get into and out of a car.  They had a simulated car to practice in.

Roy' update for today came in while I was preparing dinner, so it had to wait until we ate and then took our golf cart ride before it got too dark or too chilly.

Still generally sleeping well.

No visitors today.

Main physical activity was organizing and moving trash and recycling out to the respective bins.  The recycling bin is now chock full.

I created a grocery order for curbside pickup which will be brought to me by a church member Saturday afternoon.

I also continued updating my financial records, paid some bills, and continued going through the accumulated mail from the UPS store.
