This was truly some storm. At least you are safe my friend. Are you feeling better??? How are your sealegs??? Did you meat the cookie man????

My cold is getting better but not fast enough! :) I think I'm done rocking now! LOL! Sealegs were good but needed surfing legs a few times in that storm:D No, I did not meet the cookie man. I will track him down in December! :D

Now if I can go on one of the tours like you did!!! We did get to tour the bridge in Dec as Capt Ryan asked us at dinner if we would all love to do this...but we didn't get to sit in the chair!!!!! the dh is trying to remember if he took pictures on the bridge!!!

Captain Ryan is great and we like him also! :D I was in the chair first and DH booted me out! LOL! :D

This is the second medical evac we had on the B to B. This one was for a member of the crew and the Captain announced that we could watch it on the RCCL channel 14. This is a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter off our portside balcony

I took this off our TV and you'll notice how all the fencing on the bow drops down and the mast also drops down. In this case they used a basket drop so the helicopter did not land.

I loved your pics... keep showing us more please! I am also staying in 1608 on my 12/14 cruise. We've never stayed in a suite before, only the promenade rooms, which we loved, but I am so excited to see the suite and whatever it includes. Did the fresh flowers come with the suite or were they ordered? Also, was champagne included or no? Did the Suite Concierge contact you prior to sailing? I need to make sure that my mother doesn't get a call like that, as the suite is a surprise to her. I'm not too worried, because I believe my phone number is the active one on file, but I figured I'd ask.

Thanks again for the info and the pics!

Im getting excited...what's the earliest we can board?

And what time should I have a driver there for when we disembark?

Thanks everyone

Hey Jen! :)

We got there at 10:45, checked it fast, and then had to wait a bit. It was noon before they sent the busses to take us to the ship. I would do it the same all over again, because not waiting in line for check in was really nice. Once the busses came, we were among the first on them and in turn on the ship.

As for the return trip home, we told our limo driver to aim for about 10:30. She gave me her cell phone number and told us to call her when we got our luggage. She waited in a parking area closeby until our phone call, then came and picked us right up! :)

Lynn.. I was thinking the same thing...lol...and hear I tried to convince these two to get their planners out so we could all get on together.....the dh said not in hurricane season.....after listening to me read the posts!!! But what an adventure we will have!!!!

You'd find me down at the cafe eating the cookies...cause who is going to eat during this????

I'll think I'll stick with early August for right now!!!!

I think I'm the only person who actually liked the rocking. I was having my own kind of adventure - lol. And I slept like a baby!

It was nice having drinks with you and your dh. I love your sense of humor! And I love that you're as picky an eater as I am although I don't even eat tomatoes!

I think Captain Erik did a wonderful job keeping us safe and I'm actually very happy to have St Maarten instead of Dominican Republic. We were lucky that we missed the rain on port days but it still felt like every port had a heat index of 108!

I didn't have a chance to look at your pictures - I'm still doing laundry and trying to play catch up. I'll have to look later. Oh sorry, we forgot to take pictures of the GS. Oh well, it's not much different than the pictures that are posted on webshots (except for the new bedding).

Hope you're feeling better,

Carol

Thaks for the menu. I was looking forward to going there but after seeing the menu, I don't think I can. I am really not a pickey eater but I don't like peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and spicy food. Well, I guess there is always one in the crowd and that is me.

Don't let that stop you!!!! I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem at all to ask the waiter/waitress what ingredients are in a dish and ask for anything you don't like to be left out. Believe me - it's worth the trip!!!!

Great pictures Suzanne, thanks!

What type of camera do you use?? We need a new one and your pictures are so clear and sharp. Love them.

Lynn

Hi Lynn, The camera is Canon powershot A 460. I think it was about 125.00 at Walmart. Completely idiot proof which was perfect for me! It also does videos which come out great too! :D

Hi there - hope you're having a wonderful time in Bermuda - it is definitely my favorite island.

We will be sailing on the Explorer next November; though I wanted to go back to Bermuda, we opted for a 12-day cruise to the S. Caribbean and plan to do Bermuda again in 2009. I happened on this thread and just love all your pictures of Bermuda and of the Explorer.

I have just one question that maybe somebody can help me with. We are booked on the 2nd deck (2596) close to the ice rink -- does anyone know if the cabins are colder there, or if there's any more noise at night associated with maintaining the rink? We still have time to change our cabin, so just thought I'd check. Thanks for any help.

This will be my first time on Explorer and she looks to be a fantastic ship. Can't wait to actually see for myself. In the meantime, I will thoroughly enjoy your pictures.

Marge

The flowers were sent by one of the officers who is a friend so they do not come with the suite. No champagne but there was a bottle of mineral water I think that is on the bar. We know several people onboard so we received gifts from them also but I think you should get some chocolate covered strawberries and a cheese plate for being in the suite. Everyday we received something but I can't remember which were gifts and what did go with suite but I think you'll get a couple of things. You should get an email from the concierge but if they do not have your email you may get a call. There will be a new concierge as Ricky leaves next week for vacation so I'm not sure what the new one will do but Ricky always sends an email about a week before you board. If you want flowers to be there call RCCL or go to website and order them or you can just get them from the Flower cart on deck 5 on the Promanade and she can send them to the cabin also. You can order the champagne also from RCCL or website to be delivered too. It's a very pretty room and I think your mom will like it and be comfortable in it. If you want to post your email I can send you the video's of the cabin too. :)

They begin boarding new passengers around noon and if you are in a JS and up or Platinum/Diamond you will go right to the priority boarding and from there it's about 10 minutes from check in to ship. We usually arrive around 12:30. On 10/21 we did arrive later around 2:30 and I figured it would be packed! It was great! No traffic, and it was a breeze and easier than at 12:30. You will get your cabin at 1pm. Disembark time is difficult as it can vary depending on what the ship has going on so best to call once you are in port. Sometimes you have to wait for people to show up for immigration and if they don't go right away when called it holds everyone up.

Just take the Bonine a few hours before boarding and you should be fine! It's always better to take it just in case it will be rough sailing out. I hope you'll have smooth seas on your cruise. :)
