Momma Mojito Posted June 15, 2009 #77 Share Posted June 15, 2009 Hi Folks, Been another great day in Barcelona, more sun sun sun all day, ask the DW what she will recall from this visit, well it would be the naked man walking down town, words like **** like a donkey were used by a number of the ladies, well if you got it why not show it of, or may be not. yours Shogun Shogun, it took me a minute to figure out what the asterisks meant, but then I laughed. Did you get a picture? HaHa You can bring it with you in November. If you happen to see a waiter named Jimmy Pido from the Phillipines ask him if he knows if hewill still be on the ship in November. When we sailed on the Crown last October, he worked mainly in the Cafe Caribe. One of the nicest and best waiters we have had. See you in November JoAnn

rdsqrl Posted June 15, 2009 #79 Share Posted June 15, 2009 Have found the standard electrical items left by past passengers in cabin. You didn't happen to also find a blankie, did you?
hubofhockey Posted June 15, 2009 #80 Share Posted June 15, 2009 You didn't happen to also find a blankie, did you? LMAO Great Thread Shogun. Thanks for the "Live" Agree with you totally with the food on the Crown, at least in the MDR. It's pretty weak. But Crown Grill is outstanding. Sabatinis is too. Your live is making me look forward to my Med cruise next summer. Keep up the great thread.
caber Posted June 15, 2009 #81 Share Posted June 15, 2009 Hi Shogun, Glad it is going well and the casino is paying out.:D You sound positive about the whole experience which is good. Have you found out who is PSD and CD in October/November? It would be nice if was still James. I have not met him. Shogun Posted June 15, 2009 Author #83 Share Posted June 15, 2009 Hi All, The Crown grill is excellant, booked again for next week, we stayed three hours at chefs table but took 4 hours at crown Grill as we did not want to leave. PSD change on our b2b cruise in Oct so James Should be on board second half only. CC meeting today best turn out ever. Was in Patter. James turned up to chat to us. Sea day was great ship very quite this morning, seas so calm clear skies and warm sun. First formal night to night , not going as there are three on this cruise, just want today to be a relaxing day, might try horizon for the first time this cruise. Grand is in port next to us tomorrow, time for photos, if Haggis is reading this look for a black base ball cap saying Shogun. and sammy on the front. Princess new ships, what do we want on them, now is our time to tell them folks so lets have some ideas. Also what new things are we willing to pay for , after all they do need to make some profit. What about a TV system like you get in the hotels, pay for view movies, movies on demand etc. Chat more later. yours Shogun
cruzendude Posted June 15, 2009 #84 Share Posted June 15, 2009 This TV system has been installed on Celebritys new Solstice class and indeed it is a GREAT upgrade with pay per view movies, free on demand and best of all you can view the port talks or CD programs on demand whenever you want to view them and if you stop it and start again later it will begin where you left off...I REALLY wish Princess would get onboard with this technology as well.....onboard charges, booking shore excursions, log on to the internet......all on your in room interactive TV! hubofhockey Posted June 15, 2009 #86 Share Posted June 15, 2009 They don't need to copy Celebrity for interactive tv system. Their sister line Carnival has one working perfectly. Crown Grill is outstanding Shogun. Glad you enjoyed it. I am going to book it twice on my next cruise too. Thanks again for the "Live".
Lover of cruises Posted June 15, 2009 #87 Share Posted June 15, 2009 hi Shogun Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself. Can you tell me who the Captain is? We're on the 19/7 British Isles cruise and curious.... Thank you! Anthony
vickie_bernie Posted June 16, 2009 #88 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Definately got to try the Crown Grill when we sail on the Crown in Jan. We haven't tried it yet, usually go with Sabatinis but you have talked us into it. I too wish Princess would get interactive TV so we can book excursions, reserve alternative restaurant, pay per view movies, see menus, see patters and maybe description, view photos, and maybe exercise -- OK I am a little nuts but it could be an option for those who are interested in exercise, stretching, or lifting that pint!

Host Carolyn Posted June 16, 2009 #91 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Better U.S. news coverage on in-cabin TV..Carnival always has and they are the same company. Also dedicated game room and library? They did away with entirely on the Golden upfit and made the library in combo with the internet center = not a good move IMHO. More guest lecturers on 10 night and longer cruises (John Maxtone-Graham,etc.) Just my two cents worth.. enjoying your thread!
beckcab Posted June 16, 2009 #92 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Shogun, Glad to hear you're having a good cruise. Thanks for the information about the Crown Grill. I'm looking forward to trying it on our August CB cruise. I misread your post and thought James was getting off midway in your cruise now. I was hoping he'd be on the CB in August! Enjoy! caribill Posted June 16, 2009 #93 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Another thread reports that the Grand no longer has ice cream (and toppings) in the Horizon Court at 3:30 PM. Do they still have this on the Crown? Thanks
Shogun Posted June 16, 2009 Author #94 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Hi There All, We are saing into Gib ahead of the Grand, we will dock side by side time for some photos, Out of intrernet cafe window we have dolphins, not sure if its two or three, Will ask about ice cream, Cabin up dates D720 has lundary room next door so do not pick it. Casino gives one night and takes away the next. Still playing silly games you know you bet the max and win nothing you bet 1 coin and you hit the jackpot but as only one coin no mega payout only $100 but some one did get 50,000 but not sure if this is cents. Went to Horizon for first time as me did not go to formal night, well it was good, great range of sea food, with crab claws etc. Overall cruise is quite sleepy not much happens, good mix of folk onboard but still an older mix. Only two big groups one from Russia and one from Japan. First time in Gib so will let you know what I think Captain leaves us in Southampton so do not know who knew one is but I think he is another Brit. yours Shogun
caber Posted June 16, 2009 #95 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Hi Shogun, Still enjoying your reports. You will like Gib, if only for the duty free. Maybe you won`t be able to take advantage if you are flying back from Southampton. The two Princess ships together should be good. I remember one year on a P&O ship we were at sea heading for the Bay of Biscay from Southampton and we passed another P&O ship heading home. The horns were going and the Captains were comunicating over the loudspeakers. Everyone was waving. All the staff were out waving to their friends and family on the other ship. It brought a lump to your throat.

Shogun Posted June 16, 2009 Author #98 Share Posted June 16, 2009 Hi Folks, Boy was Gib full to bursting today, to many folk in the shops, bars etc, DW got to do her shopping in M&S Saw Dolphins nice cruise around the bay. Captain is Andy Procter, now he must be a nice bloke as he is Scottish. Just had a chat with him, he will be our captain for first leg of Oct/Nov cruise. Well Grand has gone CD on board must be good, decks lined with everyone waving Union Jack flags and singing you know the songs if you have cruised P&O. Ships played ping pong on there horns, as she was mourned on our inside she had to reverse back and sail around us which gave loads of time for shouting and waving, she was given a good send off. Ate at Horizon for lunch today my first lunch of this cruise food was hot and plenty of choice if you like fish. Now the best bit International Cafe has a cheese cake that is 100 times better than the dinning room, you must try it. Been another very hot sunny day. Weather forecast looks like it could be getting colder as we turn north, will just have to wait and see. yours Shogun
