Classic Package Change

I did not read through the 18 pages of posts here, but just wanted to relay my experience from the Silhouette this past two weeks. I'm not sure if the bar tenders are all up to date on the new rules or if it's just as confusing to them as it is to us. We had the classic package and had no problem getting cans of soda at any of the bars. The first time I ordered Baileys I was charged $1.18, but only that one time. I got it several times after that and wasn't charged at all.

Just off Summit. Friends had the Classic and could not get canned soda. She could get fu-fu drinks with no issues. Martini bar would not let him pay the difference, he was charged full price. In casino, he could get a Grey Goose drink and only pay the $2 difference. So I agree, kind of hit or miss on some of the items.

I always think of all the staff when they make changes like this - It must be a nightmare for them trying to keep up with everything, and it must take a quite a long time to get consistency on the ships between all the bars. In my experience, I found if you end up getting to know any of the bartenders over your cruise and are friendly, they are usually good at finding a way to get drinks made to be included in the package (if it is doable and not an over the top discrepancy to what you should have included).

I don't think this would benefit me. Last Christmas i upgraded to the premium package because of the wines available on the classic were not to my liking. Add a few coffees and some martinis or premium drinks , I think the upgrade is worth it for me.

I will be pleased to find out how this works for most.

I think it will be worth it for me too. I like frozen mudslides (Bailey's, Kahlua and vodka) which I think would be premium, and chocolate and espresso martinis that I also think are premium. Do they have molecular drinks on the Eclipse?

Frozen mudslides are on the classic package, not sure about the martinis.

Someone on one of my Roll Calls said he had heard that the specialty coffees in Al Bacio were now only on the Premium package.

Anyone have any experience either way with this?

Perhaps he was getting a little confused as there was a recent thread stating that the Aspen coffee had been moved from Classic to Premium?

This wasn't true last week on Soltice. My husband was only classic and could get any of the coffees. The only thing related to coffee that is now on the premium package is Baily's Irish cream.

He got them or he got them with NO upcharges?
