Can anyone please recommend a nice hotel in Barcelona for our pre cruise night. We are booked on our first ever cruise on the 2nd Oct on the Celebrity Equinox. We have never been to Barcelona before so not sure of the best area to stay for that night.

Thanks

Suggest you go to the Barcelona port link

There are a number of great properties with various pricing options. Also look at pre-cruise hotels offered by your cruise line. sometimes these are cheaper than booking by yourself.

Another vote for Hotel 1898...amazing location and beautiful hotel..we loved it for our first Barcelona stay. Do yourself a favor and check out their website...I easily booked directly this way.

Hotel 1898 is in an ideal location. It's expensive, but there is a grotto pool with a water circuit, steam room and sauna in the basement that is free to use - wonderful after walking around in the heat all day. On top of the hotel is the BEST view of the city from their tapas bar and another pool. It's just a great hotel in an ideal location. Worth the expense.

Another nice hotel, about 3 blocks from Las Ramblas but with a front water view is Hotel Duquesa de Cardona. It is less expensive than Hotel 1898 but also quite nice.

It is best to take the address of your hotel written on a piece of paper to give to your taxi driver as he may or may not be able to speak any English. If you are asked if you have been to Barcelona before, always say "Yes."

We had a great stay at the Hotel Curious (pronounced koo ree oos); it is a half block from Las Ramblas, has a nice breakfast, and is a short taxi ride to the port.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

I second the Curious we loved it and would love to stay there again .It also has a back way into the market.

Hotel 1898 was wonderful, and well worth the price, IMO. There is a rooftop lounge for drinks and tapas, a lovely little pool in the basement and one on the roof, and lovely decor.

Even the rooms were larger than many in Europe (as was the bed.....small beds are kind of frequent in Europe).
