Cheers everyone! Edward and I have just boarded the beautiful Silhouette. This is our first transatlantic but our 9th cruise on Celebrity. We are definitely on the younger end of pax at 29 and 33. We just purchased the ultimate dining and premium drink package. The weather in FLL is absolute perfection at 78, sunny and a light breeze.

We will get the unlimited internet package so I will update as much as I can and post photos too. With 8 sea days coming up I will have plenty of time to answer any questions about the ship or find out anything you need to know. I'll post menus from all restaurants as well as the bars now that we have unlimited internet. I will also post some videos as well.

We've already met some wonderful people on this cruise. I think it will be a great one!

Cheers!

Looking fwd to hearing about your cruise.

We are 50/51 and asked a server in Murano this past week about the TAs. He indicated the avg age of the pax is very high for the TAs....easily 25 -35 yrs our senior.

Our very first cruise was a TA on the silhouette and at 40 & 41 we were I'd say 2 of the youngest 10 people onboard... If not less!

I followed your last cruise so will be following this one eagerly as I know it will be great to follow,

We love the silhouette as it was where it all began, [emoji4] hope you have a great time which I'm sure you will! [emoji4]

Thanks for the video of your cabin with the balcony obstruction view.

Look fine to me for a TA cruise.

I will be interested in if the number of sea days are just fine or too many for you?

I have been on 14 day cruises where the sea days are in between port days.

Look forward to your live report.

Happy sailing:)

Bon Voyage!

Great photos so far, look forward to following along with you, as we will board Silhouette on the 23rd in Southampton. We are also in our early 30s, so hope the average age skews slightly younger on our trip, but not too worried about it, we enjoy meeting people of all ages. Would have loved to be on the TA, if only we could get that much vacation time. Enjoy!

Chicagopaul,

Are you on the 5/26 British Isles cruise as well? I think I remember your name one of the roll calls. My husband and I are on the Eclipse TA. I'm 52 and he's 61. I expect we'll be on the young side as well. Have a great cruise!!

Hi chicagopaul,

This is so cool to follow you on your TA cruise.

It's particularly exciting for me to "see" the Silhouette come to Europe, as we will board her in Amsterdam next month.

I'm very much looking forward to your posts!

And thank you for the video of your stateroom, this is boosting my anticipation :D:cool:

Have a great cruise. We've done 2 TAs but westbound - love getting the flight over with at the beginning and the 25 hour days at the end. We took our first one thinking it might be "one and done" and my husband particularly thought he'd be bored. He wasn't and we did another one. I no doubt feel we have many more in our future, particularly after we retire.

We're always right in the zone age-wise (62) these days, but we have found that travelers, particularly cruisers, don't really care about ages. People who love travel and other people love to meet and chat and share experiences no matter what the age. You'll have a great time.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. As I always I look forward to sharing my cruise with you. After a short delay we are finally leaving port. I'll be back in touch soon. Here's to hoping this new internet Celebrity has been advertising holds its own in the middle of the Atlantic!

I flew back from England yesterday and met a wonderful lady on the flight to Chicago, turns out she was heading to Miami to meet up with friends and sail on Silhouette transatlantic and then on into the Med (hope I got the right ship). She was in her 80s and I helped her clear customs and escorted her to her next flight, bless her she was so grateful.

It would give me great peace of mind to know she arrived safely.
