We have spent days at Infinity, Paradise and Bananarama. My wife requires a pool and some shade. By far, the nicest was Infinity, but Paradise was good too and their pool is quite a bit shaded, but not nearly as nice as Infinity. No pool at Bananarama. As already said, you can walk the entirety of West Bay Beach in just a little while. That means there are a lot of food options, as well as snorkeling. We did find the food at Infinity to be very good.

I hope they make an effort to clean things up some. It’s really a pretty nice facility for parking other than the dirt.

I’ve never been told no when ordering a caramel frappe from the coffee place. On Allure it even says Starbucks and is a stand alone kiosk and I wasn’t turned away. I don’t drink alcohol and my wife is a cheap date so we just get water at the end of the night. I always bring several large ziplocks and we just put the bottles of water in them and put them in my bag to take home. We don’t fly so it’s no big deal.

I've used Gypsea for snorkeling, not diving. Very satisfied. To the original question, go to Lamanai with the ship's excursion. It's amazing. Take water and Deep Woods Off wipes, not spray.

As suggested, you should consider booking a driver for the day. Spend some time looking at the options and decide what you want to do. Then look at the various excursions of the service providers like Bodden and Rony. For myself, we just book the driver to take us wherever we want to go as we have been to Roatan many times and know what to do, and perhaps more importantly what NOT to do. Keep in mind that taxis are not regulated like they are in other ports so fares can vary depending on where you are when you flag one down, and how late in the day it is. For us there's value in having a driver at our disposal for a predetermined amount of money.

Not the same location and I’m not sure there is very much, if any, terminal parking down there. Before the new RC terminal and associated parking they docked right next to where Carnival still does. We always used Falstaff Cruise Parking. https://falstaffcruiseparking.com Indoor and the shuttles are fairly prompt. My only real complaint was the dusty floors inside the garage. Theres a lot of street construction all around them and it’s very dusty. The wheels on our suitcases were always filthy when we got home. But still our favorite place to park other than the new RC lots.

Yes, you can carry your bags on if you want. Depending on your boarding time, you might consider how important unpacking early is compared to the inconvenience of toting the bags around and finding a place for them if you decide to eat or sit by the pool. Not for us but to each their own.

We parked last week in lot 10 for the first time. It was very easy. I dropped the wife and bags off at the drop off area and parked. However, when we came back Thursday it was pouring rain. That meant that we both had to roll our bags out the exit door of the terminal, around the building to the covered area in front of the terminal where I had dropped her off. Not a big deal but I did learn that there are areas of the parking lot that hold 3 inches of water. As I walked to my truck I got my shoes and pants legs very wet. I probably could have just gone around the standing water but I wasn’t paying attention and it was raining pretty hard. Once I got in the truck I just pulled around and picked the wife up without a problem. We went straight to Katie’s fresh seafood and got 3 lbs. of fresh shrimp to take home. Yes, bring an empty ice chest.

Paradise Beach was always packed even before they went AI. We had so many great days there. It's sad to think we may never go again.

Our neighbor loves our 3 kitties as much as we do, thus she’s more than happy to help. I still work so we don’t book long trips and honestly I don’t even like to be gone longer than a week because I miss them.

Play music by the pool on my phone or one of those little WiFi speakers.

Our first cruise was in October of 1992. One reason I remember is because my wife was pregnant with our daughter who was born in February of 1993. 3 nights from Port Canaveral to Nassau and Freeport aboard the Carnivale. This was a tiny ship by todays standards and undoubtedly not equipped with a stabilizing system comparable to today. Boring as heck trip and 30’ seas on the way back convinced me that cruising wasn’t for me. But then the fun started. Our return flight to Houston concluded with the plane having a hydraulic system failure. After several turns back out over the gulf which my wife informed me was to dump the fuel, we landed without steering or brakes on the emergency runway. Fire trucks, ambulances, guys spraying that foam all over the plane. People were freaking out! (Not me, of course.). Now it’s still pretty hot in Houston in October, and since the plane was shut down there was no A/C and very little ventilation. The plane smelled like exhaust mixed with puke. We had hit the ground so hard that the overhead bins had come open and bags had fallen out on people’s heads. People were crying. It was just a mess. But we couldn’t get off the plane since we were on the far east runway, which I presume they use for emergency landing so everybody in the terminal can’t see you burn to death in the crash. Anyway, they brought a piece of heavy equipment out there, hooked it to the front of the plane, and towed us back to the terminals. It took 2-1/2 hours! Needless to say, it was years before I would let her talk me into a second cruise. Something like 50 cruises later I’m good.

The World Baseball Classic has been in Miami as well, and concluded last night. I'm sure there were a lot of international fans there, particularly Japanese.

When I retire (again and for good) my goal is for us to spend 6 months or so in a fully furnished condo on a beach somewhere, then move to the next place. Ecuador, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, the list goes on. Probably catch an occasional 5 or 7 night cruise here and there but no way would I commit to three years of anything except to my wife.
