  1. It's the number of the post in the topic. My post will have a #2 in the upper right corner because it is the 2nd posting in this topic.
  2. Uh, not trying to sound rude but for those of us who don't know you, what do you do on the cruises?
  3. Robe: I don't need. Chef coat/hat: I'm not a chef and I don't do costume parties Photos: might be nice if they are of my loved one, me, and the captain Personalized pads: I don't need Picture Frames: Might be nice Again, as I said before, I'd be satisfied with a tour of the bridge and the engine room (although the tour only shows the control room, if I remember correctly).
  4. It's the number of the post in the topic. My number will be 14 because it is the 14th posting in this topic.
  5. The quickest way to ensure I do not tip is to have a tip jar right next to the register or a "suggested tip" on the credit card screen.
  6. Individual ownership is quite high for CCL. (I'm taking "Other" to be individual owners).
  7. I would like to tour the "backstage" of the ship. However, I don't really need all the crap that they give out so they can justify $150 for the tour. There is often a kitchen tour that is free. Don't need to see that on an Ultimate Ship Tour. Would like to see just two things - the engine room and the bridge.
  8. It really sucks that when I hit Platinum the rules change!
  9. I got your joke. Some people have no sense of humor!
  10. Bottom line: If you want to tip, tip. If you don't want to tip,. don't tip. There is no reason to get affirmation from others for what is basically a personal decision.
  11. It's not a matter of being closed minded. Most of the comedians I've seen that resort to adult language do so because their material isn't funny to begin with. I wouldn't lodge a complaint; I would feel sorry for the person who thinks he is a comedian but is instead a foul mouthed idiot who doesn't know what comedy is.
  12. Other countries have lower wages but they also have lower cost of living. https://www.worlddata.info/cost-of-living.php
  13. Why not go to Paris before or after the cruise? Why waste a day of cruising to see Paris?
  14. Do you know for sure what his financial situation is? One should never assume what another person's financial situation is. He could be single and have more money saved up from his work than you and I combined. He could also be dirt poor. In any case, accept the gift. In a way, it would be rude to not accept a gift without a good reason. Guessing the steward's financial situation is not a good reason.
  15. Please. I know you are allergic but calling a muffin with nuts in it as "contaminated" is so misleading. They aren't contaminated. Just call them '"a batch with nuts in them." Speaking of nuts. I found it quite amusing that Southwest Airlines made a big deal about them no longer serving peanut. Next time you fly Southwest, take a look at the back of the snack mix package. It says the ingredients may be produced in a plant where nuts are also made.
  16. Try this for obstructed views. Often, the view isn't really obstructed. Obstructed Views on Royal
  17. That's how mine are held - in my IRA. I actually cut my loses when they went down about 3 years ago. The OBC and dividends did cut down on my loses. I just recently repurchased and actually am making a profit.
  18. Why care about others? As long as you are happy, who cares what others think.
  19. Note that the 100 shares doesn't have to be bought all at the same time. Just make sure you have at least a 100 when you submit the form.
  20. As a former smoker who quit cold turkey, I'm looking forward to going to the casinos where I can inhale the second hand smoke. Yes, I know smoking is not good for your but I found it very enjoyable. The reason I quit was because I got tired of the ever increasing taxes.
  21. Seems I misread your posting. You are talking about printing the 5 pictures I have. For some reason, I was thinking you meant to have them give me 5 pictures from the cruise I will be on.
  22. No, I didn't say that. If you went to a friend's party and you knew the dress code was suit and tie, would you show up in a bikini? Would you go to a wedding in shorts and a tee shirt if it was obvious that was not the dress code for the wedding? If invited to a grand gala, would you show up in your pajamas. I'm not asking for people to dress up for me. I'm hoping you will respect others who would like to experience a gala night and dress up in at least a suit and tea or the female equivalent. (By the way, a sport jacket with a tie is just as good as a full blown suit.)
  23. And you smoke to a majority of the passengers about this outright ban when?
  24. No, don't go putting words in my mouth. Things like turning down sheets or the chocolate would be noted in the after-cruise survey. I will contact the CEO if I feel there is a major problem that customer non-service will not or cannot fix.
