Herer's a hint on something that worked for Me. Before we got to Elite CC statis we would go to the Theater and when the first Ships Excursion group Number was called we would just blend in with them as they went to the gangway and off the ship and onto the Tender. . No one ever looked at any number stickers or ask us for them. The old saying is "If you Look and Act like you Belong nobody gets suspicious"

We were just on Equinox and it was Concierge guests Only. Sometimes we were invited just by being Elite+?

Live From Celebrity Reflection: 6 Day Caribbean 1/28-2/3/24
D. B. replied to jam19872016's topic in Celebrity Cruises
The Sorbet is free (included) at the Ice Cream station in the OVC so it should be? I think they only had it in the case with the Gelato to fill in the display. There were not enough different Gelato flavors to fill every pan. -

Maybe 5 or 6. Be sure to Ask if the one you want IS Gelato. Last time I saw Mango and the nice lady Told me That one is Sorbet. -

Free scoop of Gelato.... I always seem to forget about that CC Elite perk until the last day of the Cruise! I know I'm not alone as there always seems to be a line at the gelato counter on the last day! Lucky for me my Wife doesn't like sweets and I get Her Scoop also! -
Infinity is definitely going into dry dock!

The motivation for X to have fewer 10+ night cruises is market research driven. The bean counters researching consumer trends have found that the age group 30-55 are more interested in 3-4-5 night cruises than the Longer one's that retired Cruisers favor. The longer cruises seem to be assigned to the older generation of X ships favored by more "Mature" cruisers like myself who like the M and S class ships. The only exception is the assignment of the Edge to Australia and New Zealand cruises. That market is hot these days. As another example of the demand for shorter cruises is the fact that Carnival has Rebranded 3 Costa ships and is moving them from the Med. to Caribbean/Gulf area cruises. The upscale (Higer Priced) cruise lines are catering more to the "Mature" cruisers that like longer cruises. I tried some of them but found the higher the price the less Fun was included. -
We were just on Equinox and the only thing I saw that needed attention were the many public area Windows that had condensation between the inner and outer glass. Mostly in the Sky Lounge.

Since Covid Celebrity has made a financial commitment to the Edge Class ships and is spending just enough on the M and S class ships to keep those of Us who prefer them from going searching for a replacement. I have tried some lines almost equal to X and some that cost a Lot more but I find I Still am most pleased with the M and S class ships. Worts and all........... We were recently on Beyond and even my Wife said she thought the ship was Crowded. -
What would you pay to dine in Blu if it were a specialty restaurant?
D. B. replied to LB_NJ's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity would have to Pay Me to eat again in Blu. The menu was just plane strange, and we ended up most nights ordering off the MDR menu. The room was cramped and noisy with a lot of guests well sauced up at the Bar before dinner. Now we just book basic Veranda cabins and spend the saving on specialty dining. -
Beyond- still beyond creaking and clicking

We have been onboard Beyond for 6 days in cabin 8136 and it has been without any noise . Well except the people next door who insist on Slamming their cabin door! -
First Celebrity cruise and I screwed up the move up offer
D. B. replied to compozer's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Be warned that even if you Win a MoveUp bid on A higher categorie cabin it could end up in a less than desirable location. That could be why that cabin was available because nobody booked it. That happened to me once last year so now I consider that possibility when bidding. -

Which excursion should I do in Geiranger?
D. B. replied to Travelbug424's topic in Celebrity Cruises
The ride Up (and Down) is not for those who can get "car sick" as the road is quite steep and has a lot of switchbacks and curves. Didn't bother us but some were looking for the B--F bags. On one visit we did the boat ride down the Fjord and that was quite pleasant. -
I sure hope Celebrity does Not sell the older M class ships as they are my Favorites. But like me they are getting closer to their expiration date.

Current 75% sale still charging singles 200%

I just experienced the same thing booking an Alaska cruise. The Total price for Both my son and daughter in a Window Cabin on Summit (May,2025) was $1867 with Tips And without X's insurance. For Me in an Inside cabin with tips and no insurance is $2858. The reason is that X figures out How Much Each guest is likely going to spend Over and Above the Cruise price once onboard. My taking up a cabin Solo is going to cost X the extra that missing second guest was probably going to spend.? Well I cruise Solo a lot and know the price for any cabin will be double. -
Incorrect info from Guest Services - rest stops 2hr bus tour Argentina
D. B. replied to zitsky's topic in Celebrity Cruises
You should have asked Shore Excursions. As for the person you asked at Guest Services they may have been looking at Information that was not up to date as the tour operator could have decided to use a Larger newer Bus if more than the original bus load of guests were sold the tour? She/He should have directed you to Shore Excursions desk. -
Connie will get a Refresh this spring on arrival in the Med. after it's TA eastbound. It will never get the full Revolutionizing like Millie and Summit. It was Planned but Covid and the decision to spend Big on the New Edge class ships sucked up all the money. I Love Connie and will sail on it post refresh.

Go For It ! Cruise ship hallways are Dull and Boring. I was on a Halloween cruise last Oct. and some of the door decorations were very impressive and entertaining. I just do frig magnets with witty funny lines. No politics or off color content. I find the Crew love them and tell their coworkers to come read them. On Silversea I wouldn't think of it as I could be thrown off at the next port for doing something Fun.

It has been my experience that what Celebrity calls a Small Group Excursion ends up going to the Same Places that the Mega 50+ excursions go to and often at the same time. Some ports/islands do not have roads big enough for Big Busses so every excursion can be divided up into smaller groups to fit the smaller transport. Gibraltar is one such stop. That means the only real difference is how long it takes to get off and back on the transport. The Mega tours can sometime be only as fast moving as the slowest person in the group?

My wife's favorite Land place would be one of the many Casinos within a few hours (Free) bus ride often with friends and/or family. It's more of a Social activity than the Gambling alone. On A Cruise ship she likes to do a little gambling and Really enjoys watching Other People loose (or Win) their money. It's a people watching thing. Watching people drink too much and get Loud and stupid would be a strong second.

First time sailing on Celebrity- Specialty dining question on Equinox
D. B. replied to hrmkr's topic in Celebrity Cruises
LPC a gimmicky venue geared for kids? I notice 99% of the guests are Adults. I suggest trying it Once and decide if it's for you. I must be young at Heart.? Been there 12 times since first introduced on Edge in 2018. The Videos change and I think they are up to number 5. The best menu is the one with Lobster or Filet. Ask what nights that is available. I do agree that All specialty dining charges at the Full price are no longer worth it. If booked pre cruise at a Flash Sale discount I still do them. Lawn Club Grill on Reflection and Silhouette are My favorites. -
I was stating the Only the Pre Cruise discounts were limited. The Onboard discounts with CC also include a discount on the Tips as you are paying less for the dining (I've been told).

My tags for my next cruise show the ship outline divided into 6 spaces with our cabin in the front Right (Starboard) area colored in and a letter D. I guess it's for Forward, Midship or Aft on either Port (left) or Starboard (right) sides of the ship? If I get a MoveUp for this cruise and do Not get new Tags in my Edocs I will just white out and color in the New area. Not sure what the Leter D is For?
