  1. The OP posted... ...which makes me believe that the OP currently only has 2 booked in a stateroom that holds 6. There could be other reasons besides space that the family member doesn't want to share a stateroom. Also, if the Haven is currently sold-out, there could be an issue with lifeboat capacity. If that is maxed-out, adding the family member won't happen even as guest #3.
  2. No. The system will eventually catch 1 person booked in 2 staterooms. Some people have done it in the past but things have gotten stricter. If the family member has someone that could share the club balcony, you could book that person in the club balcony and the family member in the Haven Suite. The family member could enjoy the Haven benefits then sleep in the other stateroom with that other person.
  3. For many men, it's a way to hide a receding hairline or bald spot. I still have a full head of hair and so does my dad. I can't even remember the last time that I wore a hat outdoors or indoors.
  4. Another vote for Getaway but I recommend (for a slight increase in price) an aft-facing balcony instead of the standard (tiny) side balcony. If you can get an angled balcony which is the same price as the standard balcony, that would also be better. Check prices on the Large Balcony category (B6) and the even larger balcony/view of the water Club Balcony (M6). They might be worth it.
  5. Yes, but you must be SURE that what "we" call pepperoni is what you get. You might get actual bell peppers, not meat circles. You can get what "we" call pepperoni, too. I don't recall but since it is freshly made, adjustments can be ordered. Either can be ordered. My kids have had both on 3 different MSC ships. I can't really answer. Yes, there is room service but experience choice will make a difference as to added cost (if any). Yes. Deciding which "experience" you will have makes a big difference. It's not just about stateroom type (interior, ocean view, balcony, etc.). Bella is basic, Yacht Club is highest. Usually, starboard side forward is best but the ship can dock facing either direction. 6. On some ships, NCL allows shorts in all MDRs. Check the dailies for ship specific requirements.
  7. Cagney's allows shorts....short pants, whatever they're called. 😁
  8. Some people might have missed the "long pants...short pants.... they're still pants and pants are required..." joke. 😉
  9. If you take a mirror image of this (19025)... ...you can see the extra space of 19028.
  10. It's near the spiral staircase within the complex. There is a gap. The RS balcony is actually 2 separate balconies with a total of 3 doors to access outside.
  11. Ask for as much as you want. Anything not finished will get ground up and given to the fish in the ocean.
  12. My most recent YC booking has guests 3 & 4 paying about $180 each plus $140 each for taxes/fees. In theory, guest #5 would get the taxes/fees refunded for a no-show.
  13. What if the fake guest #5 is a no-show? It would cost a few dollars more but not much would be lost.
  14. ^^ 13904 BA/GA For BA/GA as well as Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore, deck 13 has the least deep aft-facing balcony. For BA/GA, the difference between the deepest (deck 9) and the least deep (deck 13) is more significant than the difference between the deepest (deck 9) and the least deep (deck 13) for Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore.
  15. I would try to book for 5 even if you have to make up a 5th person and cancel that 5th before final payment. Something like 18018/18019 would have a pullman bed from the ceiling.
  16. You can also look to the MSC Yacht Club for a "ship within a ship" experience that is most similar to NCL Haven.
  17. YC guests can make requests that aren't listed on the door knob menu. Our butlers have always told us to just write down what we want (within reason) and it will be delivered....and it was. See what I mean? 😁
  18. These are nice staterooms but be aware that 13108 on Joy is wheelchair accessible. It has a larger bathroom (where the window is) and does not have a separate living room/bedroom. It is one large room and one large bathroom. The balcony for 13108/13708 for Joy (under the bridge) is partially enclosed. (Bliss interior shown above but Joy is the same)
  19. The part about "E-Tickets are only available within 20 days of your cruise departure. Please check back once your cruise is 20 days away " is just MSC speak. I've gotten eDocs months in advance. This could change....not that anyone at the port cares about boarding time, anyway.
  20. For 3 people, the system will assume that it is 3 adults and will add the $138.60 (20% of PBP) for each of the 3. Once the ages are entered, guest #1 (adult) would get the PBP service charge, guest #2 (child) would get the soda package and would be charged a much smaller service charge (20% of $9.95 per day) and guest #3 (child) would get nothing. The SDP is only for guests 1&2 so the amount of the service charge is only dependent on the number of meals. People should select based on what is best for them but as noted earlier, even when declining the extra cost FAS promos, some of the total is going towards paying for those unused things.
  21. Yes, even when there is shade, it can uncomfortable eating outdoors of a restaurant... especially when wearing sweatpants.* (j/k) 😀
  22. Miami was a bit more of an unorganized mess but it was faster. We were lead through the crowd, checked in, and lead through to a back elevator then onto the gangway. We saw a table with bottled water near the elevator but we never stopped anywhere other than checking in (they were training newbies so it was a little slow). Our butler escort in Miami wasn't our actual butler on the ship but our Port Canaveral butler escort was (coincidentally?) our butler on the ship for the week. Until MSC's new terminal is up and running, I doubt that things will be consistent. Some people had a long wait even when sailing Yacht Club (we did with Seaside once) but others zip right through.
  23. Although I haven't sailed in The Retreat, the "ship within a ship" concept works great for my family of 4. In addition to the 2 mentioned, I can also recommend NCL Haven. My 2 children are younger than teens but we've all had fantastic cruises in the Yacht Club including on Seascape's sister ship, Seashore. We're also booked on Seascape but we'll probably be on later than other forum members who are booked. Choosing the right ship is important and you seem to have 2 great ships in contention. You might see me and other forum members making fun of the "Tragic Carpet" that's on the starboard side of the newest Celebrity ships but on the Celebrity forum, members probably make fun of the "apartments" on the aft section of MSC's Sea**** ships. Some of the modern ships will overwhelm you with features. Take your time and learn what the ships have to offer and see what might interest your group. There is usually something for everyone.
  24. If you are referring to the roped off area near check in that also has water and Pringles, that is for Yacht Club guests.
  25. It looks like this.... ...and you can de-select the blue boxes (since they have added cost) when taking the FAS promo.
