  1. I can appreciate them but when kids see black and white it's an instant no. They don't know who Taylor is ....... TV was pretty much useless in the cabin the last two weeks. Thank God we had an extended balcony in Alaska.
  2. That may work well if you're 87 .... Not so good for us with 12 and 15 year olds.
  3. Got off the Spirit on Thursday and they were gone and TV viewing at night in the cabin was garbage ... nothing.
  4. You should have picked a Vista or Excellence class ship for your first Carnival Cruise especially with a bunch of kids. The old Glory would not be my choice. You should do more homework and the ship amenities that would entertain all are more on the Vista and Mardi Gras . Teens would have way more fun on the class of ships I listed above. It will be fine for older cruisers. Don't get me wrong, a cruise is a cruise and you will all enjoy it but there were better options is all I'm saying. Just an opinion to be taken with a grain of salt.
  5. Just because the tire light comes on doesn't mean you need to run to a shop a possibly miss a cruise. What was wrong with jt? Low on air and a 3 minute fix?
  6. No, most ships charge while docked in US ports waiting for departure. Its just a dollar or two and I also can't figure out why people get all worked up and cry about a couple dollars while being on a cruise that cost maybe thousands and thousands . People think they are being charged like hundreds of dollars extra for a beer or something with port taxes.
  7. Your friend is wrong . I just got back from an Alaskan cruise with a stop in Victoria yesterday and yes you need covid tests and AriveCan .
  8. Walk on with a print out on paper with test results. You don't need Verifly for anything if you don't want to use it.
  9. Florida departures forum for parking questions and answers.
  10. Italy port of Call forum for Rome hotels
  11. On the Spirit right now and have seen no one including me .... win, lol.
  12. Yes, they still have not fixed that silly glitch in their system where it lists Seattle day one as the fjord excursion day.
  13. We agree on both counts. We did the Air Wings private float plane in Ketchikan yesterday as well with a water landing and it too was spectacular with wonderful views. A bucket list excursion. If you can do both like we both did please try and swing it regardless of cost.
  14. It opened March 2nd as the first and only excursion for a couple weeks when it was posted on the Carnival site for our August 10th sailing.
  15. A few more .... all aboard agreed that if you missed this excursion you really limited yourself to some of the best close up views of the fjord and glaciers.
  16. I'm on the Spirit right now in an extended balcony and you made a great decision. The views were spectacular from the balcony and I'd have died if I were in an inside cabin on this particular cruise with all the photo opportunities from the balcony. If you are doing Tracey Arm excursion you MUST do the small boat excursion .... best views of the cruise that the ship itself can't get into.
  17. If you are sailing on Carnival to Alaska please do yourself a favor and book this excursion as soon as it opens. The sights along the routes and Sawyer glacier visits are spectacular and you can't see most of this from the ship if you do not book this excursion. It was rhe best views of the cruise with limited occupancy. I would have kicked myself if we didn't snag this as soon as it opened. We are on the Spirit now and we had perfect although rare viewing weather . Don't delay when it becomes available. Photos taken with my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
  18. Your friends are staying home and please adhere to the cruiseline website , not info on here. You all seem to lack the correct information. I'm onbard in Alaska as I type and you need a stupid amount of crap to sail to Alaska with a Canadian stop.
  19. So jealous! Hope your day on board was as good as ours today. Great shot!
  20. Wow, this is so strange and I'd bet most no one has ever heard of any such thing including the MDR staff. I can picture the shoulder shrugging if that was asked onboard.
  21. There is something similar. It is not Seafood Shack but there was one section of the buffet that had a variety of for purchase seafood if you choose.
  22. I don't think a random person here would know why someone at RC is not answering that end of your phone call.
