  1. That's not a normal price. That's the price for one of few remaining suites on an almost sold out cruise. It doesn't look like the CS is even available anymore. For the same May/June time frame you could do... Reflection 9 night in a Celebrity Suite for 14k Reflection 10 night in a Signature Suite for less than $18k Infinity 9 night in a Royal Suite for $17k Constellation 10 night in a Celebrity Suite for $16.5k
  2. Reflection is the only S class ship that has the round bar. The other four all have seating facing the wall. Edge and Apex are identical. Beyond is completely different. YouTube has several videos.
  3. Those are not all luxury lines. There is a stark difference between Azamara and Silversea. Most of that type of clientele is vehement that Azamara, Viking and Oceania are Premium not Luxury. Celebrity, Princess, etc are mass market no matter how you cut it. That’s not so even though. The PH1 is more comparable to a Sky Suite. The CS on Celebrity is never a great value (on any class) in my opinion. That Infinity sailing has also been almost sold out for quite some time so pieces are skewed. The itinerary may be similar but that’s where it ends.
  4. Speculation. It's funny because there is one group that loudly complains that CC status is now worthless, and another that clamoring for free points. Can't make everyone happy...
  5. Mine hasn't done that in years. Any time I am on the ship walking outdoors, running on the treadmill or lifting, it asks every couple minutes if I am finished with my workout. Kind of annoying but it's just confused by the movement.
  6. Yes, but that would accomplish nothing for the offender, if they were doing this purposefully.
  7. I assume there will be the normal barrage of complaints after this. Click the package. It's $9.99 per day per person.
  8. Hrm 🤔. There is an all day virtual session tomorrow specifically geared towards 24/25 Europe itineraries.
  9. Reflection is in Europe next summer (2023) but when Equinox swaps Reflection (24/25), Reflection will be the year round Caribbean ship and won't return to Europe in the summer of 2024.
  10. You would be surprised at how many people pay absolutely no attention to what they are actually selecting. That's what removes some of my empathy about the 'bad IT and bad website!" complaints, but that's another topic for another day. That said, when you see a new invoice with the brochure rate, it warrants a phone call.
  11. You're free to pay the brochure rate if you really want!
  12. Reflection was the first ship in the fleet to get RFID cards back when it had a refresh in 2018.
  13. Equinox goes to South America from Valparaiso and Buenos Aires for 24/25.
  14. You can easily find the brochure rate to see the full price base fare. That term has been used since the 80's if not even longer. Every single cruise line out there does it.
  15. Large cabana is for 4 people, small cabana is for 2. They may let an extra person slide but I wouldn't push the matter. They come around near lunch time and drop off menus and ask when you'd like lunch. Pretty simple. The cabanas were never supposed to be a super private space. The opposite setup on Beyond puts you on the pool deck which is also no private at all. Just like the cabanas on S class face the lawn where people may be eating lunch, watching a movie, etc right in front of you. That setup was short lived on the Edge when it first came out. The walkway is now open to anyone, as are the chairs along the glass. Those are not part of the cabana so anyone can use them.
  16. It's definitely not a dining experience. You just book it through the dining section of the cruise planner. You do get a lunch included with some off menu items like the Luminae burger. You have your own space to hang out all day and an attendant that will be waiting on you. Plenty of videos on YouTube. This menu is from Edge but it's mostly the same, if not identical, on Apex. 17. The initial communication said the week of 12/5...they may trickle in a little early but I would not expect to see anything today.
  18. Go and make up your own mind. It's unfortunate some people decide they are going to have a terrible trip before they leave their house. If you read this site or a few others often enough, you will notice the complaints come in waves. There is the bandwagon hot topic complaint that lasts a few months then the vocal few minority moves on to something else. Some 'reviews' conflate opinion with fact and those tend to be the ones that shout the same comments over and over. I have a little different vantage point than most, but I rarely hear the same complaints as the hot topic of the day that you read on here. Go, enjoy it and make your own opinions. It's not the same as the S class. The food may be different. And they may not have the same dessert item that they served 25 years ago, but it will be okay 🙂
  19. Agreed. Celebrity has indicated several times quite recently to TA's that the guest transition from Celebrity to Silversea is not at all where they want it to be. I can't speak to the other lines but personally see very few jumping from mainstream to premium and lux lines. Some do, of course, but even high end suite Celebrity cruisers tend to stay in house the vast majority of the time.
  20. Keep an eye on the cruise planner when things become available. I would not wait to book excursions on the ship. Most of them will be sold out. On that note, for the itinerary you are on I would not book any ship excursions. You will save a ton of money and have more time in port if you book independently and won't have to walk around with a number on your shirt with an ear piece in. Do you research and start booking fairly soon if there are must-see items on your list. Don't buy into the hysterics a few people cause about the IV's. Try it for yourself and see. If this is your first cruise you aren't going to have any basis for comparison anyway. You will be off the ship and out of the cabin nearly as much as you are on.
  21. Which is it? If you don't actively cruise any of those lines and have plans to you aren't really a customer or a cruiser at all. That's the thing. There will always be a crop of people in their 50/60/70's. That age group isn't going away. The individuals in that group change. Those current 30 and 40 year olds will eventually be in that group woh are looking for a different experience from the usual ultra family friendly Carnival/RCI/NCL. That group will undoubtedly have different expectations than today's boomer/silent generation.
  22. Getting there. At the end of September RCG (not just Celebrity) had a half billion in outstanding FCC's but had 3.8 billion in deposits. 95% of bookings were new bookings made in new cash rather than previously issued FCC's.
  23. 😬 Shop around. You can get AQ on Apex for the 2/10/24 sailing for less than $3,700 or an E3 for right under $3,000 All Included. The 2/17/24 Reflection 8 night has several AI categories under $3,800.
  24. FWIW...cabanas are a max of 4 people. I wouldn't nearly double the capacity and expect the attendant to serve everyone.
