  1. You don't have to be plugged in to ask your cabin steward or pick up the phone and call guest services. If someone makes an assumption, that is on them.
  2. For whatever reason, it looks like the ship is going via Malaga, Valencia, and Barcelona. Maybe they had to pick up some paella.
  3. It could be. Depends on how many Diamonds and what the powers that be choose.
  4. It is impossible to please everyone. Carnival could leave things alone and keep most people happy.
  5. CCL has begun buying CUK stock again in a previously announced stock swap. Several times in the past week.
  6. Why do people never have the time to ask on the ship but always have time to complain after?
  7. Some of us have a life. Heck, Royal sold off a cruise line. We'll see if the numbers Royal releases drag Carnival down some more.
  8. It's a "special invitation from the Captain", and depends on how many Diamonds are on the cruise. These days it is often a brunch and typically early in the cruise on a sea day. Occasionally it is nothing. Not that long ago they did change the menu
  9. I never said that. They have to pay for it. They have to pay more if they want to show it in the staterooms. The only way to get TV at sea is via satellite and cruise lines subscribe to various packages. They can add available channels - all it takes is money. That generally means Miami has to approve a ship carrying an event outside of standard programming.
  10. It absolutely does cost a cruise line. Cruise ships aren't sailing around with huge TV antennas.
  11. Whether or not people realize it, many index funds include CCL. Enjoy!
  12. Before bacon servers, it was common to see people heap piles of bacon onto a plate. 2nd place went to those who molested an entire tray of bacon looking for perfect pieces, leaving behind a tray of bacon shards.
  13. That is certainly true for cruisers on casino rates. Carnival only charges me $5 for a PB&J and includes a cookie.
  14. Yes, Carnival now charges for room service outside of continental breakfast. Surprise, so does Celebrity. On a positive note, Carnival has taken steps to reduce the amount of illegal drugs on ships.
  15. Bacon is probably the most wasted breakfast meat on cruise ships and the reason Carnival went to bacon servers years ago.
  16. All it takes is money and increased costs and cruise fares. No thank you. If the NFL is that important, cruise off season, or cruise on a different line.
  17. Carnival doesn't buy bacon on the spot market. They contract food. A lot of it.
  18. CCL long term debt has peaked. The other cruise lines? https://finance.yahoo.com/m/be8d620e-92ae-3b78-b414-3ddab1a683d4/4-big-reasons-to-be-bullish.html https://www.fool.com/investing/2023/04/27/is-carnival-a-buy-yet/?source=eptyholnk0000202&utm_source=yahoo-host&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=article
  19. and cake! and banana ice cream! https://wearechefs.com/baked-alaskas-history-is-one-of-science-and-decadence/
  20. Get a BLT from the Deli and have them hold everything except the B
  21. It certainly isn't a defined benefit for b2b much less guaranteed so s2s is one level removed. It endures for now.
  22. Carnival would only have to give the same category or higher. 4J is technically an inside cabin, so any outside cabin is an upgrade. There are a number of reasons including if the capacity of the cabin is greater than the number of occupants booked. But heck, Carnival can even substitute a different ship if they want to. No, these don't happen everyday, but it is possible.
  23. The improvements to the mustard drill alone offset any petty complaints.
  24. Cruising is different now. It is neither better nor worse. It will never again be as it was, on any cruise line.
