  1. Pretty sure they have two kinds of bacon. Surprised you didn't mention the Princess loyalty program counts either sea days OR cruises and gives solo cruisers double credit. 8 solo cruises of any length on Princess can get you to their highest status.
  2. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/news-releases/news-release-details/carnival-cruise-line-introduces-carnival-venezias-leadership
  3. Kinda funny was a couple of months ago when flying domestically in Argentina I could carry on bottles of water, or for that matter booze. My last name on the ticket was misspelled and didn't match my passport. No problem. Apparently one mistake was no problem, two was getting iffy, and on the third a supervisor might have to flip a coin. OTOH, no liquids over 100ml, even if purchased after security, were allowed on the international flight back to the US. Duty free was delivered at the gate so was okay.
  4. and we know it will never again be as cruising was in 2019. There will be a new normal. Until they don't... and those who put all the eggs in one basket have no options. Destination ships, private islands, or old fashioned ports of call will all get stale will some people.
  5. If you want to keep the promotion I doubt you can change the bookings now
  6. I think most of this, although if they move David, they should make him guardian and official waterer of one of the pools. Not a chance for a t-pool. People sure love to spend Carnival's money.
  7. I used to be annoyed when things would sell out months before the cruise. At least now, procrastinators will have a chance. And I'm sure the ship will have discretion to lower the price on the cruise, if needed.
  8. I'm not sure what some people are thinking about private islands. The motivation for a cruise line to go to the expense is to hold passengers hostage. It is true that not all are actually "islands" and you can escape via a private tour, but there are risks. Traffic can get EXTREMELY backed up on Roatan, for example, especially around construction zones. And then you actually have to do some work to arrange.
  9. As I have said, Carnival needs to up the ante.
  10. Too much like work. I'm retired. There are better options for day trading.
  11. No, it really wasn't https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2020/12/first-look-new-costa-firenze/
  12. If someone has a problem with Carnival, why not stop cruising on Carnival instead of taking it out on hardworking employees separated from their families by thousands of miles, just trying to earn a living.
  13. That would be the casino and I expect them to be more selective in the near future.
  14. Buy your own floating cabana. That'll show 'um.
  15. Your travel agent should have booked you through the groups department. Must be a rookie.
  16. Apparently HAL hasn't gotten the memo and villas are $599. If you want to spend more you can always add a butler package. They only charge $46pp for over the limit.
  17. Carnival has no history of doing so other than a failed experiment or two and coffee makers will never be a profit center for Carnival.
  18. Yes, I do. And if you are cold on a balcony, you will surely be cold on deck.
  19. Check in begins at Midnight Miami time, so if you are in a different time zone, adjust accordingly. And it might even start a minute earlier.
  20. Price elasticity plays a role and I'm sure Carnival is quite aware of it and how to maximize profit.
  21. All of the loyalty programs that I participate in took the pandemic into consideration, including hotels that carried status over.
